What happened to Joe Pesci?

I was wondering what happened to Joe Pesci? In the '90s he made 17 movies, but after Lethal Weapon 4 he didn't do anything except for a music album. Does anyone have any info?

He's retired, but he occasionally appears at golf tournaments.

Looking at IMDB, he's had a odd career as an actor. Maybe he prefers musicianship to acting.

I think I read that he had some eye problems, and he needed some surgery and was laid up for a while there. But I saw him interviewed on Comcast cable with Steve Audobato in the last year and he looked good and had all his faculties, I think he just loves to chill out versus working on dreck like The Super and Gone Fishin.

I do hope we get at least one more Scorsese-Deniro-Pesci film. Something to get the bad taste of Casino out of my mouth. And chill out Casino fans, it's not THAT bad, but Bull and Goodfellas would both be in my top 10 of all time films.

Joes been in some real headaches. But then he's been in some reals classics. You've got your Scorsese movies, Once Upon a Time in America, My Cousin Vinny, Lethal Weapon, etc.

And if you look at his filmography, he never did spend too much time acting. Roughly 30 films in 40 years. Sounds like he has better things to do.

That's funny, I was at Fry's today, and was looking at the Jimmy Hollwood dvd, and thought......what has Pesci been up to ?

I remember Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf kept calling him " Joe Pesky ", and Scorsese, " Sarosie ". He thought that was their actual names.

Yeah, he hasn't been in anything in a long time. I can't think of anything since Lethal Weapon 4. Still, I'll be watching a Pesci movie in a couple of weeks anyway (it's the season for Home Alone after all).

He told me that I looked funny and made him laugh.

So I proceeded to beat the shit out of him.

He's probably a Made Man now and doesn't need acting jobs anymore.

I heard Italians weren't getting any good roles these days (unless you guest or star on The Sopranos).

See Robert De Niro.

See Al Pacino (other than AIA)

There are plenty of good roles for Italian-American actors, depending on their complexion and other variables:

* Mobster

* Abusive Husband

* Jewish guy

* Mexican guy

* Arab guy

Pesci's career has been sporadic for sure, and he didn't really have stardom till fairly late so I can understand his not working much these days. Would love to see him in another good movie though
