Red Sox prediction in BTTF II?

There is talk around the net saying there is a newspaper in Back to the Future II that reads that the Sox will win the series in 2004.

Anybody seen this or are they getting the Cubs reference confused?

I think it was The Cubs and the year was 2015.

What he said....

The BTTF trilogy was set in 1985, 2015, and 1885.

From www.imdb.com:

Rumors and Urban Legends
-----------------------------------------------
During one scene, Marty watches a holographic sports news broadcast that states the outcome of the 2015 World Series, in which the Chicago Cubs have defeated a team from Miami. A significant number of people believe this scene correctly predicted the outcome of the 1997 and 2003 World Series, in which the Florida Marlins (based in Miami) were victors, and that this is especially remarkable because Miami did not have a baseball team the year this movie was made. This is obviously a case of selective memory; the movie deals with the year 2015 and not any other year, the Miami team lost the fictional World Series, and in the event that the Chicago Cubs did win a World Series, it would not come against the Marlins, as both teams are in the National League.

HA! LOL

Is it possible the reference is only in a newspaper lying around in the background as a sight gag?

I like how every world series the rumors start "Back to the Future said they would win!" Have any of these people seen the movie?

Also, this isn't DVD related, it belongs in movie or sports.

Just want to join in to debunk this rumor -- it's the Cubbies over "Miami".

Shame, shame. Funny enough, there was talk this year about changing the name of the Florida Marlins to Miami Marlins. But even then the Cubs or Marlins would have to change leagues to play each other in the World Series.

Still wouldn't work, since the mascot of the team seen in BTTF II was a Gator. (Although the team's complete name isn't mentioned, one can assume they were called the "Miami Gators")

Well, you do know that hoverboards have actually already been invented, they're just waiting for the patent to run out on the skateboard before releasing the upgrade

Well we still got 11 years to see if Zemeckis was right in predicting the future.

I seem to remember a pretty good run of championships from one Chicago team in the 90s.

Didn't Nostradamus predicted this event that the Red Sox will win in 2004 coinciding with the eclipse?
