Jane Talks Punisher 2
A morsel about the sequel.
October 26, 2004 - In an interview with N-Zone, actor Tom Jane confirmed that The Punisher 2 is still in-development but he doesn't expect the making of the sequel to be any easier than the first film. "No, probably not. No, that movie was really hard to make. I didn't want to do it, I turned it down twice. I did. Certainly a sign I'm supposed to do it," said the star.
Jane even provided a tidbit on what fans can expect from the story: "I know that the scene at the end of the first Punisher where I go up and take everybody out, that's going to be the opening of Punisher 2 where he'll be taking out another set of guys in another place – whole other context."
There were reports that Punisher 2 had been scrapped due to lukewarm domestic box office but sources advised IGN FilmForce that the rumors were "total rubbish."
In related news, Tom Jane will also provide the voice for The Punisher in the new videogame being developed by Volition Inc.

Especially if this is as good as the first. And
for Jane voicing the Punisher in the game. That game certainly looks like it has potential and this just makes it sweeter.

I just hope that they keep it organize crime related. I don't want to see any of the campy villians from the 80s and 90s.
If they stay with the feel of Ennis's run, it'll work out well.

Thougth that was a good line. What about the one with God sitting this one out? Was that too corny too? or the one regarding the last son? I thought some of the lines were funny yet bad ass.

I just watched the first here on DVD, and I thought it was good enough for a sequel (at least of the same budget). I'll probably just rent it, though.

The God bit was fine. Not sure which one you're referring to regarding the last son. But that group discount line just stuck out in my mind as being sooo.......well, I'm just surprised anyone could say it with a straight face.

Sure, that one I'll agree with. But I'm not budging on the group discount line. Too much cheese for me.

Might be fun. I gave this one a second chance on DVD and wound up liking it more. If they plan on opening the movie the way Jane describes it, then it sounds like they will have it right from the get-go this time around.

I thought the first one was OK. Not up to the caliber of X-Men or Spiderman franchises, but good nonetheless. I'll go see it.
