Most sites claim PG...how can this be if it is the cult, campy horror it is known for? Is there no gore whatsoever?

There's a bit, but not much...more blood than anything else. (I haven't watched the DVD, but I did see what I'm guessing is the same cut of the movie on HDNet Movies on Saturday.) It was released before PG-13 came into existence, so PG movies had greater leeway then than they do now.

You're cheating yourself of one of the wildest monster pictures ever made.

I'm a BIG Larry Cohen fan, always have been, and I'm glad all of these have commentary tracks. I listened to his commentary on 'The Stuff' and found it to be more interesting than the film itself (which is, admittedly, one of his lesser achievements). Can't wait to hear what he has to say on these. I've always thought killer babies was one of the best ideas since vampires.

I agree, I love all three films.

BTW, a remake is on the way, and Larry Cohen is doing it himself!

In the meantime, get the DVDs of the trilogy!
