Puffy's Next Movie: 'Carlito II'

Sean Combs — aka P. Diddy — is about to make his next foray into films.
I hear he's made a deal to star in the prequel to "Carlito's Way," the 1993 Brian De Palma classic that starred Sean Penn and Al Pacino.
The new movie, "Carlito's Way: The Beginning," will begin production shortly and will be written and directed by Michael S. Bregman, son of producer Martin Bregman.
Bregman told me recently, "I think this one is going to be better than the first one."
It had better be, for Combs' sake. His Bad Boy Entertainment record company is suffering from poor sales on Mase's big return with "Welcome Back."
The CD has sold only 413,000 copies according to SoundScan, and from that you must deduct the royalty payment to John Sebastian for use of the song "Welcome Back."

OMG You gotta be kidding me?!? What, is Puffy going to turn himself hispanic and pretend to be Carlito? This is ridiculous. Why do rappers want to destroy and tarnish the names of good films. I believe Puffy and Jay-Z wanted to redo Scarface with rap songs instead of the cheesy 80s tunes we all grew to love. :bfrank:

I'm going to be working on this, I'll keep you guys posted. As of now, the word is he's NOT playing Carlito, but that doens't mean he won't star. Of course, it's Carlito vs. someone, presumably puffy. Figure it's got to take place in the 70's, and I guess it'd end with Carlito being defended by Kleinfeld and going to jail.

How about something original from the Hip Hop crowd for once?? First you rip off The Police and now its Carlito's Way?? I hear that Penn's free...give him a call, he sounds like he needs a friend.

It sure as hell is better than Scarface. I crack up just thinking about Pacino's laughable accent in that one.
