Can you get a DVD of Ju-On: The Grudge in the N. America region format?

I want to see the original Japanese Ju-On: The Grudge before the American remake comes out

Damn youse people who says it wasn't good. When I watched it alone in my dark room so long ago I was freaked out for a while.

The remake is really good. Got to see the premiere yesterday and it really was different enough from the original to stand on it's own and offer some surprises to those who are familiar with the original while still being clear enough for the new folks.

There's a R0 Thai disc out there. DTS Thai track/ 5.1 Japanese track... both with English subs. I'm sure there's a thread either in the main forum or floating around here...

If you have a surround system the noise was pretty effective. I liked the movie and can't wait to see the remake.

SORRY but the full review has been embargoed in line with British film distribution rules.

Yes, the noise was creepy. You get bonus points if you can tell what it is and why it was used.

sounds to me like someone slowly letting air out their closed throat. I can repeat the noise. Why it was used? I dunno.

I thought it was an effective ghost movie. I am very jaded when it comes to horror movies and I was startled a couple times while watching this. IMHO, it was amazing what they did with simple make-up effects to elicit creepiness. The bathroom stall scene was damn creepy.

Yup, with en exacto knife. Pick one up and push the blade out. It will make that clicking sound your hear in the film which was of course modified/enhanced with other effects.

I was gonna let this go, but just watched the movie again and this is just plain wrong. The sound has nothing to do with an exacto knife.
