I finally saw this for the first time on HBO HD today, and I don't really get the point. It's about a football team with no character really getting more screen time than others, and they lost the big game.
I missed the point, it's not like they overcame anything to get to the big game and lose.

I didn't understand the praise for this one. I was completely unengaged throughout. BB Thornton's portrayal of the coach was horrible, imo. I didn't care about any of the characters at all. The whole movie seemed to promote football as the central focus of high school. I love football, but despise how much attention and obsession it gets at the high school level. JMO.
