For all those in the Chicago area, on thursday October 21st, the International Film Festival here in Chicago is hosting a screening of The Polar Express. Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks will be here to present the film.

They're limited to only balcony seats, but getting to see the film early, and presented by the director is definitely worth the cost of admission.

I really wanna see this movie in an imax theater.

I'll take the $20 bucks and score tickets to Primer and The Machinist instead.

But thats just me....besides, the concept of seeing a movie in an actual theater has always seemed like it would leave me lacking in the movie going "experience."

I'm with MrBlonde, I'm checking this out on Imax 3D. Too bad my interest in this lies pretty much on a technical level, and my hope Bobby Z has something good. In general, the actual flick doesn't excite me, but it looks pretty.

Most of those gorgeous restored theaters in downtown Chicago were originally built to show movies!

Interesting Roger Ebert is presenting the film. I guess he's already seen it and liked it, otherwise I doubt he'd be presenting a film he had either not seen or not liked.

I wish I lived in Chicago...I'd go.
