Dooooh! I just realized who Korvinos is. He's the 3rd Immortal right? One turned Vampire, another Lycan, and the 3rd stayed human but was still immortal. Is that it? Or is this Korvinos the Father of those 3?

Yeah I figured that much. But I'm still talking about the same person. Was I correct. |
Yeah. According to the folks at IMDB (and there's a whole lot of crap to wade in through there), Alexander Corvinus (Derek Jacobi) is very much alive. Apparently one of his sons, William Corvinus, is the first Lycan and was exiled with the aid of Selene and Marcus Corvinus some 300+ years ago because William was considered a huge danger to the Vampires (and apparently he was a really bad man). Why they didn't just kill him? I dunno. Now Marcus Corvinus is a Hybrid (like Michael Corvin - only more badass it seems) and Selene and Michael set out to release William. I guess so he can kill Marcus and thus stop him from creating a new Hybrid race.
This of course begs the question, what happens if, once Marcus is dead, William (again, apparently a very bad man) decides to become the father of a new Hybrid race? With Marcus out of the way, who can stop William? Certainly not Alexander. Although he's the first true Immortal the trailer clearly shows that, although he's apparently very knowledgable, he's the typical all-knowing wussbag found in many fantasy-esque movies. Also, Len Wiseman has gone on record that this film ends with a twist and I think William becoming a Hybrid and establishing himself as supreme baddie could be that twist. The only thing I'm unclear about is how Tanis fits into any of this and what ever happened to Erika (who does not appear in this film at all). |
Wow....

Underworld: Evolution Set Visit - Part 2
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/under...s.php?id=11742 This part explains Tanis: A long time ago, Tanis had been exiled by Victor, Bill Nighy's character from the first movie, and since then, he'd been working with the Lycans, supplying them with weapons that can kill the vampires. I think Selene said in the trailer the she exiled Tanis, so maybe she was with Victor at the time. |

I have no idea if anything you posted was off or right on the money. Either way it was a fun read. To be honest, now I know why Star Wars fans love speculating on shit that never happened.:p |
Yeah, I get what you mean. Oh well, once the film hits theatres we'll know for sure. :)

I received the Greg Cox novel in the mail today from Barnes and Noble. I can't wait to read it, even though it will spoil the movie for me.

- Two new TV spots:
http://www.themoviebox.net/movies/20...on/trailer.php - Sony's web page lists the movie as Rated R - pervasive strong violence and gore, some sexuality/nudity and language. This is good because they will not tone down the movie just to sell a few extra tickets. - Also, I read the novel yesterday. It had lots of action and a good story, so the movie should be great. If you are looking for spoiler information this thread has major spoilers: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0401855/board/flat/32124898 |
Pervasive eh? That's a step up from the first one...

19 days more :D

I'm sorta miffed that I haven't seen any press for this at all, aside from billboards. The trailer hasn't been shown in front of any of the movies I've seen lately, nor have I seen any tv commercials for it. I don't even know what weekend it's coming out. All the billboards say "January 2006".

I've barely seen anything for this. Which is probably good. I'm afraid if I see trailers for this I won't want to see it any longer.
|
I was starting to wonder about the advertising for this as well but since about a week ago, I've been seeing 10-12 commercials for it a night.
:) I CAN'T WAIT!!! |

Ive been wondering this for a while, is this a sequel that many are anticipating? I saw the first one and it wasnt bad, but this thread has been around forever anticipating this movie. Was the first one a hit? I guess I just feel like I'm missing out on something.

Really like that poster but am not watching those clips as I want to be as spoiler free as possible. I know the basics and that's enough for me.

I'm glad to read a positive review, as I've been looking forward to this film for a while now. Although I don't like the comparison with Blade 2 because I thought that totally blew. I hope there's more Michael in it than has been suggested in the trailers. And hopefully Kraven is kept to a bare minimum, as he ruined every scene in the first one with his horrendous "acting". |

It manages to pick up and run with every single cool idea and story concept that the first had, and amplify them to become a follow-up that blows the original completely out of the water. Enjoying a film more than the first just because the original was mediocre would be one thing, but “Evolution” is not only a far superior movie than the original, it is a superior movie in its genre, with action sequences surpassing even those witnessed in the “Matrix” trilogy. Seriously...could it be all that. |
