Joaquin Phoenix and crying.

Is it in Joaquin Phoenix's contract that he has to cry in every movie that he is in?

Seriously. It seems like lately, every time I see him in a movie, he cries at some point during the movie.

Cried in:

    Did not cry in:

      May have cried in:

These are movies in which he cries, and I'm willing to bet that he cries in his newest movie, Ladder 49, too.

The movie list will be edited as the thread progresses. Thanks guys.

also, don't forget Parenthood. If memory serves, he shed some tears in that one as well.

At least he's better at crying than Brad Pitt.

Mr. Pitt just looks freakish when his face goes all crinkly. It was the one part of Troy I couldn't watch.

What I find strange is that thing JP does with his shoulders.

I've seen it in a few films, and I'm not sure how to describe it.
He kind of pushes them forward and looks like a little gimpy.

        Anyone else notice this?

This is what I love about the Internet. People come up with the weirdest shit that I would never notice on my own, like that thing about John Travolta always winning the dance contest. Now every time I see Phoenix in a movie, I'll be watching to see if he cries.

If I was in any of those movies, the one I'd definitely cry in was 8mm. Surprised he didn't.

If he lets his beard grow out long enough he can dab his tears with it.
