Final Destination 2
Originally posted by Trigger Bad Boys 2 - I really enjoyed the first one, but this one was one managed to blow it away... it had humor and better pacing and amazing stunts and even some innovative camera work. Plus, Henry Rollins in his best performance yet. |
One more.. Poltergeist 3, and I know almost everyone hates that movie, but it scared the crap out of me when I was a kid so I have to include it. :)
|
I agree that Bad Boys II was much better than Bad Boys.
|
The Lost World
I never really understood why so many people hate this movie with such a passion |
Blade 2. I didn't like it as much as the original after seeing it at the theatre but since I've bought it on dvd it has grown on me.
|
The Godfather Part II, The Godfather Part III, Terminator 3, and Star Wars: Episode II.
|
Eddie & The Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives
Eddie and the Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives is a very underrated sequel. I think it answered all the questions about Eddie Wilson, the Cruisers' lead singer, that the first film had. Watch both movies together. Great stuff.

superman 2
lethal weapon 2 bay boys 2 die hard 2 ( my favorite of the series) nightmare on elm street 3 indiana jones and the last crusade rocky 3, 4 BTTF 2 jurassic park 3 |

In Eddie Il, he looks no older than he appeared throughout the first movie. Back on topic, I can't think of any underrated sequels. Not to say all sequels have been bad, just that I can't think of any that are underrated. |
robocop 2, predator 2 , night of the demons 2, c.h.u.d: bud the chud, Godfather III, phantasm II & III
oh yeah Fright Night II -wink- |
The French Connection 2 comes to mind.
|
As far as underrated, Scream 2 and Halloween 4 are the two that keep coming back to me. I liked Scream 2 better than the first and I think a lot of people dismiss Halloween 4 just because it's the 4th part to a franchise. Some have said Nightmare on Elm Street 2, but the only thing I like about that is that Freddy is still scary and not just a wise-ass weenie. The Freddy makeup is the best in 2, if I remember correctly. While I wasn't all that keen on Matrix Reloaded, I was one of the only people I know of that liked Revolutions. Oh yeah, Friday the 13th Part 6 is fairly underrated in my opinion also.
|
Mission: Impossible 2 - I enjoyed it more than the original actually
|
Alien 3. I even liked the butchered theatrical release.
|
OK - how 'bout Fright Night II. The original was a pretty decent vampire flick. The sequel was panned by critics but was pretty fun.
|
Also,
Ginger Snaps II Amazon Women on The Moon (the Kentucky Fried Movie sequel) - pretty darn funny |
Sorry to nitpick daniel18, but Godfather II underrated? Hardly. It won best film and is considered in many circles to be superior to the original. It's on a pretty short list with the best films of all-time.
|
Alien 3 - always loved this movie, even the theatrical version. Hate Resurrection though.
Austin Powers 2 - better than the original IMHO. Matrix Revolutions - better than Reloaded Naked Gun 2 1/2 V Final Battle Star Trek III Return of the Jedi |
Weekend At Bernies II - I love this move for some reason
Major League II - No joking, i've seen this movie at least 200 times (i worked at a video store for a long time, and it's a PG baseball movie, and we could only watch PG movies. i've also seen the sandlot and rookie of the year at least 100 times each) |
oops, wrong thread :)
|
The Spy Who Shagged Me
Wayne's World 2 |
Final Destination 2
Day of the Dead |

... It's by far the most complex and interesting as well as the glue that holds them all together as one story (although the first stood well on it's own). |

Did you all forget Toy Story 2?? Can't say on Good Burger 2: The Final Patty as it hasn't gotten a release date yet.....
