Alone in the dark

Oh man oh man.

http://www.boll-kg.de/neues/aitd_trailer_large.htm

This doesn't even look like it could work as a popcorn flick. Please get all the AVP hatred and vent it out on this instead. :p

gcribbs 08-11-04 09:35 PM

Wow. I wanted to like it just to be different.

It looks like a total mess. I think I have seen STV movies that looked like they had better plots.

Alien Redrum 08-11-04 09:35 PM

Oh God this looks like it's going to suck.

What? Is Boll gonna keep producing these video-game-shitfests until he has a winner?

Good Lord.

Maxflier 08-11-04 09:37 PM

Looks like it will have plenty of the slo-motion effects you guys loved so much from HOTD.

DVDho78DTS 08-11-04 09:44 PM

I saw the teaser trailer for this back in June when someone posted a link to the movie's web site in this thread.

That thread was too funny.

Lara Means 08-11-04 09:50 PM

Someone needs to stab director UWE BOLL's eyes out so he'll stop making piece of crap movies.

asianxcore 08-11-04 09:51 PM

looks like poop.

someone stop Uwe Boll from making movies.

slo-motion gun scenes with a blazing soundtrack of nu-metal playing. hmm ok.

necros 08-11-04 10:14 PM

Well I didn't mind the nu-metal soundtrack but the rest of it sucked ass. I dunno if it's a bad movie or a bad trailer or just both. Prolly both.

Trigger 08-11-04 10:16 PM

looks like alot of unfinished work to me - too early to judge.

RyoHazuki 08-11-04 10:30 PM

Dr. Uwe Boll!?!?! Doctor of what?

jaeufraser 08-11-04 10:34 PM

Yeah Boll make Anderson seem like David Lean.

This looks awful. But here's hoping it's as bad as House of the Dead...cause that movie is so amazingly stupid it's funny to watch. Lots of people can make bad movies, but it takes a special skill to be as bad as Uwe Boll.

And to think his next movie after this is a 47 million dollar movie with ben Kingsley! Geesh! Do his financiers actually watch his movies?

See that's the problem with movies these days.. it all relies on opening weekend and if it makes a certain amount of money, it's a success no matter how bad it is, unless it's Catwoman. Because most people don't find out how bad a movie was till the get to work on monday, and by that time it's already made enough money to at least give it a straight to Cinemax sequel.

Seantn 08-12-04 01:05 AM

But House of the Dead BOMBED on opening weekend, even considering it's budget. And Alone in the Dark looks awful...It won't be attracting a big opening, no way it will.

Corvin 08-12-04 01:08 AM

Fantastic!

beefjerky 08-12-04 01:12 AM

According to Boll, regardless of opening weekend numbers, HotD made a profit.

Whoo, keep on rolling Boll!

BuddyRevell 08-12-04 02:35 AM

Oh my

Could this be even worse then House of the Dead? It sure looks like it. Not one single thing looked interesting. Complete crap. AVP is looking much better now.....hardly.

that's not the case. Opening weekends really only matter for bragging rights now a days. Most, if not all films will make a profit through their theater run and in the secondary market through dvd sales. I'm pretty sure that is how HOTD got the most of it's profit, through dvd sales since it wasn't in many theaters to begin with.

I love how they spend five minutes on shooting crates in the dark without any damage being done to them. oh man, simply awful.

AOD 08-12-04 06:06 AM

I hope for their sake it's a work in progress. It looks horrible. Kinda reminded me of a Resident Evil wanna be. Either way it looks pretty bad in it's current state.

harosa 08-12-04 06:26 AM

I think Boll heads some sort of company that finances his own films.

tofu 08-12-04 09:52 AM

From the looks of it, if Boll actually does finance his own films, it looks like he only puts in $10K or something. Film looks like crap.

Charlie Goose 08-12-04 10:28 AM

Maybe you Negative Nates didn't notice, but the movie has Christian Slater AND Tara Reid. Together in the SAME MOVIE! Put that in your collective pipes and smoke it.

steebo777 08-12-04 11:20 AM

Dude.... I don't even know what to say. Dr. Boll needs to bow out fairly gracefully before he completely slaughters his name throughout the world, not just on the web. First Outhouse of the Dead, then Alone in the Dark and finally Bloodrayne. When will he learn?

Rival11 08-12-04 03:17 PM

This movie is a joke right? It's not really being released and it's just a funny gag right? Right???

yecul 08-12-04 03:55 PM

1) The movie looks pretty good.

2) It didn't seem that they were alone or in the dark.

3) There has to be a lot of work left to clean up the movie, the FX looked shoddy.

4) The acting was... uh... bad.

5) I couldn't discern any plot.

6) Tara Reid was wearing too much clothing.

One of those points above is a joke, fyi. Can you tell which one?

xraybies 08-12-04 06:16 PM

Note to film investors: STOP GIVING UWE BOLL MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
