I saw this spoiler fm another forum...it must be a joke.

For those who have seen it, please tell me it's not true:

The kiss thing isn't true, but the rest, yes.

Unless you're a glutton for punishment, I see no reason why any geek would want to sit in a theater and watch Anderson ass-rape two perfectly good franchises.

The film isn't only bad (horr-I-bly written), but deathly dull. At least FREDDY VS JASON was fun crap. This is just crap.

I would advise all to stay away.

This is almost getting to a point of pathetic. Look, it's a movie called Alien vs. Predator, and we're debating it as if it were the next SW or LOTR film. Give it a rest!

Please explain how a movie with Orcs or Wookies is somehow more serious subject matter than AVP. I mean, if you want to beat the "Don't mistake AVP for artsy-fartsy crap" horse to death, at least contrast it with Rashomon or something.

That's like extolling "Van Helsing" for reinvigorating "Dracula," "Frankenstein" and "The Wolfman." They probably would have been better off without the help.

I'm still holding out hope for this movie, but the rating serves as an unambiguous statement by the filmmakers and the studio that they are seeking a different audience than the other Alien and Predator movies.

That spoiler makes it sound worse then it actually is.




Over all this movie was not bad, but not good. It really had Paul's dankness all over it.

It suffers the same thing I disliked about Resident Evil. It has zero to no set up for what exactly is going on in the film and he over looks far to much information about the characters/situation and goes for the quick and easy get away.

The alien vs predator action is in there and some of the scenes are intense.

Over all I didn't hate it, but I sure as hell didn't love it. Paul Anderson was the wrong person for this.

Hell, the ****er couldn't even get the way the predator sees things down right. WTF.. That stuff was done so perfectly in predator 1 and 2 and in this it's half assed. oh well.

Watch it if your a fan of the two franchises. skip it if you are looking for something more then mindless entertainment.

AVP is the most laughable film I've seen in years.



P.O.S. Anderson surprises us with a story of several armed people being sent into a subterranean stronghold where evil creatures lurk, and run the risk of killing the world if the creatures get to the surface - complete with about only about ten minutes of what the audience came for. The building's a pyramid that is full of shifting walls and booby traps. (A PYRAMID, mind. Not a Cube.)

Logic problems, higgledy-piggledy structure, terrible dialogue and bland, cliched characters are not the worst of this script. No. I mean it when I say the film is LAUGHABLE. You will laugh at it. You will think fondly of the stupid Batman five-minute film. AVP's badness will become stuff of legend. Oh, if only it had Kraven (though it does have a poor ITALIAN actor, who is Italian for no apparent reason other than to make an Italian joke).

When it's not being a comedy, it's incredibly boring.

I miss terrible Catwoman outfits, Anikin's acting, Dracula with oompa-loompas, extraordinary gentlemen... What a silly, silly, silly, silly, silly, silly film Alien Vs. Predator is.

Just got back from a free screening. Being a huge alien fan, I am more than a little disappointed. As stated earlier, this was not a fun movie to set through. I can accept bad acting and dialogue from a film like this, but geez, the action sucked too. The entire movie was dark and dull looking, you couldn't see anything. The fight scenes were too fast, too quick. And boy, did the predators look horrible! I kept waiting for a WWE entrance song to be played every time they appeared on screen. I thought the aliens looked good. It's clear in this picture who the bad guys are. If the last 20 minutes hadn't sucked so bad, I probably would've liked it.

We waited 7+ years.....for this?

I've avoided posting in the AvP threads until actually seeing the movie. Well, now I've seen it.

The movie wasn't very good. I really didn't expect to say this, but the film really was hurt by the PG-13 rating. Jackskeleton made a point about it being mostly creature against creature gore, but there were plenty of scenes involving human carnage that were totally destroyed to make the movie kid friendly. The "gore" involving the aliens and predators was fine, but anytime a human got it, we get the quick cutaways, and very very little blood. When an alien jabs its second jaw through a person's head, I wanna see brains and blood; I wanna see that sucker come out the other side. When a chest burster emerges, I wanna see blood oozing and dripping and spraying everywhere. We get none of that.

But the rating wasn't the only problem. So much stupid shit happened all throughout that made me roll my eyes. Anytime I'm trying to take a movie seriously (as I was with AvP), yet my instincts are telling me to go into MST3K mode, I know something's not right with the movie. There were a lot of ridiculous plot points throughout, but things got really bad towards the end. As soon as the main girl , things went way south. The scene where was one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've seen in a movie in a long time. With the exception of the the whole climax was pretty laughable.

And then there were the continuity problems. I know this may be a small complaint, but it really annoyed me. Maybe I'm missing something, but someone please explain how if

The only good thing I can say about the movie was it had a couple cool moments between the aliens and predators. But I really feel the MPAA got in the way here. More gore wouldn't have made this a good movie, but it would have added a layer of enjoyment that was sorely lacking. Imagine if Freddy vs. Jason was cut down to a PG13. It would have been quite bland. That's sort of the way I feel about AvP.

perhaps when they mentioned the robotics link, that was suppose to be the link there. they also did the pen, knife hand thing.

I din't think it was the pg-13 rating that killed this movie. it was the story and the director that screwed it up.

That shot gave me a chuckle. It was like they were trying to recreate a scene from Desperado.

yeah. if anything, this movie is good for a laugh and some predator/alien shots... nothing else.

I just came back from the 12:01am showing. What a disappointment. No way this movie should have been the way it is. I wish Dodgeball was showing at 12:01 instead.

Yeah, I was laughing my ass off during those scenes. I couldn't believe people were clapping at the end of the movie.

It was bad. some points entertaining. other points just god damn awful.

I don't blame a pg-13 rating.. no no no. it had a good amount of violence. The problem is the story. Weyland is not used right to connect the franchises (this takes place after predator 2 and before alien) and the fact that the aliens are on earth defeats the whole purpose of the predator films



they also screw around with the time span that it takes for an alien to go through the cycle of face hugger ---> alien worm ----> adult hood by making it as short as twenty minutes.

Not to mention

a lot of crappy things in the film. It was good to see Predator and Alien fight

Over all.. Screw you Paul Anderson. Why couldn't you leave film making to the real professionals who could do a better job.

I'm still going to watch it two more times simply for the action... besides that, two more times are also free.

RENT This made for tV movie. You've been warned. Dull dull.

The more I think about it, the more I'm just let down on it all.

Just a shit load of plot holes that is typical for Paul Anderson. I was really let down that the predators just were weak sauce like that

And I'm left wondering why the hell McFarlane toys decided to put so many god damn blades on their figures. Or detail in them at all. Such a waste.

I think the only thing worth this film is to see some alien and predator action.. which its a bit low on . The rest was just blah.. really really blahish. I read the script and I expected little and I got little in return.

The fact that Anderson couldn't get the predator vision down right pisses me off. It's not to hard to create that vision effect. especially with todays technology. Why the hell did they just leave it like they did?

I don't think there were any screenings for critics of this film. That tells you right away that the studio knows that they have a turkey on their hand.

From the reviews I've read so far, this looks like a severe disappointment that might put the stake in the heart for both franchises. A real shame.

Another example of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I saw the Predator POV on the fox special that aired last night and was like "WTF!?!?!?". Basically, the F/X crew just wanted show that their skills are above and beyond those who worked on the previous films. Bastards failed miserably.

I wasn't too impressed with the cloaking effects as well.

...Because kids love knifes and stabbing weapons.

I'm getting this bad boy pretty soon.
