Although she was forever identified with King Kong she also appeared in several other early 30's horror classics, including The Most Dangerous Game and Mystery of the Wax Museum (which is an "extra" on the House Of Wax DVD).

Just heard the news. It's always sad to lose someone, but you can't argue that she had a full life.
I kind of feel like a heel in that one of my first thoughts on hearing of her death was to hope that she had recorded any interviews and commentaries they had planned for the upcoming King Kong DVD release. A woman is dead, and I'm thinking of my DVDs.

"Whatever happened to Fay Wray
That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh
How I started to cry
Cause I wanted to be dressed just the same"
— Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Are there any other songs that mention Fay Wray?

She turned down a cameo in the '76 Kong, and she once told me that, had she been asked to do commentary for The Most Dangerous Game (back when it came out on laserdisc from Roan), she would have declined. I haven't heard whether she did anything for the Kong DVD.
I'm very, very sad today. I'm going to miss her very much. My website will have a board for posting condolences later tonight.

Sad, but she lived for a helluva long time.
I am almost certain that there was a role PJ intended for her to cameo for in his remake.
At the end of his version (going from his '96 script), the same thing happens as in the original. However, instead of Carl Denham delivering the classic last line, a mysterious old woman walks by the corpse and delivers the line. ("Twas beauty that killed the beast.") I'm willing to be that was written for Ms. Wray.

Too bad.
Be in peace, Fay

My site now has a board for leaving messages of condolence. They will be passed on to Fay Wray's family.

If they ever do a biopic of her life (she's Canadian, by the way), I suggest Christina Applegate for the part, as she certainly looks a lot like the young Fay Wray.
Which is which?
