If its a free ticket, would it be included in the box office?

Plus, aren't most free tickets invalid for the 1st two weekends of a new release? They are at all the theaters where I live.
no, those tickets count for the box office take in. Look at it this way, Fox is fluffing the box office numbers by offering to pay you to see the film.

Universal does this a lot also when they want to make sure they get the #1 spot for the weekend. That ticket is worth at most $10 bucks. So whatever under $10 it cost to get into the theater, that is counted towards the films box office.

Those free tickets are Movie Cash and can be used as early as friday morning. Theaters taking part of it need to accept them just like cash.

So yes, those free movie tickets will help it.

Here's why PDIA2 will adjust to over $100.

(Spoiler for a PDIA2 cameo)
Spoiler:
It has a cameo by Stan Lee. Stan Lee, man! A cameo by Stan Lee is a guarantee of box office success. Think about it. He's had a cameo in X-Men (blockbuster), both Spider-Mans (mega-blockbuster), the Hulk ($60 million+ opening weekend), and Daredevil ($45 million opening weekend in February). Face it -- the man only has cameos in certified hits!

I think it did make over $100 million if you count vhs, laser disc and dvd sales into the numbers

Plus that was not a cameo either since it was a fairly large speaking role

edit: moved up over $28 million

I am going to try for $30 million by the end of the weekend.
I would try for more but I have to go to my sisters wedding on Saturday.

Looks like this weekend will be a 'wash' for me literally - I will be busy recovering from a hurricane headed right for me. No doubt we'll lose power and phone so I'll be back whenever the latter one comes back.

Like gcribbs said, that wasn't a cameo. That was a substantial role.

damn. AVP is down down down.. I'm playing this weekend cause... I'm still in the top ten even after my screw ups. Lets see how it goes. Besides that, this is really the last big name summer weekend since crap crap and more crap comes out in the weeks to follow.

Well, I'm up almost 14% for the week, maybe this time I'll make it into the top 10 performers for the week.

Triple_S, what have you been doing? What have you been investing in to get so much money?

You're still tearing the boards up. I have been watching you and a number of others, I've passed everybody but you, and you are wayyyy ahead of me.

I got off the ride. We'll see after tonight's adjust if people will jump off after making some dough. Need to get back in the black and WARWD helped me a lot.

what a ride. I made over $1.5 million from the miss3 and warwd ride after commissions

I got out since I would be shocked to see them move more. If they do then I am still happy.

at 73.36 I am willing to go long.

I bought it at that price.I figure the downside has reduced to a level I am comfortable with.

got up this morning and decided to sell it for a profit and move on. The movie sucks and I just feel it will have a huge dropoff everyday and so I will not take my chances.

Sadly I bought it at 81 and am pretty much bonded to it because I think it can only go up from here...

HSX is seriously bustin' my balls. I am going to boycott AVP simply because of the pain it's caused my portfolio. I gave in and sold my long on AVP just so I could keep a profit, then I thought it would be a good idea to short it for a while and of course it goes up. I'm done with it. It's a stupid movie. *pouts*

I'm longing Predator. simply to try to get my money back cause this is the sort of crap the average joe may want to see. It's going to have a good opening weekend with the lack of any reviews. But it's going to suffer a huge drop off next week. No matter, aslong as it makes me some money now I'm good.
