best Tom Cruise performance

Which of Cruise's performances is best?

Kal-El 08-05-04 06:53 PM

A veeery close tie between A Few Good Men and Jerry Maguire, but I had to vote Jerry.

PalmerJoss 08-05-04 07:05 PM

I say Vanilla Sky, even though he was pretty much playing himself.

OldBoy 08-05-04 07:46 PM

Why isn't Vanilla Sky up there? or Taps?

The Cow 08-05-04 07:50 PM

No Top Gun?

RyoHazuki 08-05-04 07:53 PM

I'm gonna go with Magnolia. The scene where he's being interviewed is incredible.

Ruderic 08-05-04 08:11 PM

A poll of his worst performance wouldn't be a bad idea.

FrankTheTank 08-05-04 08:16 PM

Gotta go with Magnolia, too.

MrX 08-05-04 08:38 PM

Magnolia

Joem 08-05-04 09:07 PM

I went with Rain Man.

Get Me Coffee 08-05-04 09:13 PM

You Tom Cruise is good and all his films. It's hard to pick a best...Born on the Fourth of July, A Few Good Men, Rain Man, Interview with the Vampire, and even The Last Samurai he was really good in. I guess my vote will have to go with Interview with the Vampire.

Banky 08-05-04 09:36 PM

Magnolia.

John-In-VA 08-05-04 09:39 PM

All the Right Moves. :)

I went with Born on the Fourth as his best, though i really liked his performance in Vanilla Sky.

Mountain Biker 08-05-04 10:14 PM

The Outsiders :)

Mondo Kane 08-05-04 10:42 PM

Yessss. 4th/July is in the lead!

Frank TJ Mackey 08-05-04 10:48 PM

Ron Kovic (Born on the 4th)
Lestat (Vampire)
Frank TJ Mackey (Magnolia)
Jerry (Jerry Maguire)

Maguire

Cruise is one of my favorite actors and cannot wait to see "Collateral" tomorrow. I went with "Magnolia" which I think he does such a wonderful and powerful job. His character goes from a funny seminar speaker, to an intense interview scene and to the emotional unraval of his character at the end the film, such a memorable performance.

I voted Born on the 4th of July (though that's not my favorite Cruise film).

Red Dog 08-06-04 09:18 AM

I'd go with Rain Man, but I am curious to know why Top Gun is not in this poll? :hscratch:

neiname 08-06-04 09:24 AM
