Don't want to clog the thread with large files. http://img42.exs.cx/img42/1720/rotj-remaster8.png http://img42.exs.cx/img42/5163/rotj-remaster4.png http://img24.exs.cx/img24/3638/rotj-remaster3.png http://img24.exs.cx/img24/6352/rotj-remaster2.png Yes, unfortunately Hayde replaces Shaw in the ghost scene at the end of ROTJ. I don't like the change, but it's the only bad one made in my opinion. |
You got served by 4 minutes.

Yeah, maybe I ought to take this down. What do you think?

Re: Revenge of the Sith it is!!!!
You know, this screencap almost makes me glad they're remastering these films. Even as a kid I remember thinking how the Rancor monster effect looked like pure shit.

Comparison shot: LD screencap: http://www.artanisknarf.com/3po.jpg DVD screencap: http://koti.mbnet.fi/dukeirot/ep3/dv...-remaster5.png That's a compressed divx screencap, and it still look amazing. |
Great comparison. Thanks.

That looks niiiice.

I was hoping Naboo would look a little different by ROTJ...

A few decades would have past by the time ROTJ takes place. I understand that some people wanted a completely new scene of Naboo, but I think it links the 2 trilogies quite nicely while not making a ridiculous change. I imagine Lucas is spending a ton of money on restoring, tweaking, and making these DVD. Creating an entirely new shot on the scale of the Naboo shot would be very time consuming and expensive, especially considering he's working in Episode III night and day. Who knows. All I'm saying is it would create a bigger continuity problem if it didn't look like the Naboo from TPM. It needs to look the same, or at least very similar. Different viewpoints I guess. |
Saw the video footage of that spirit scene.. my god.. it is true..

Unless he changes it, like he did the 2nd movie.
Return of the Jedi was originally Revenge of the Jedi. |
It's a throw back to the whole revenge of the jedi thing. Very doubtful that it will be changed. as for the spirit scene. Anakin being replaced at the end of ROTJ with Hayde.
|
Does that mean alec will be replaced with ewan?
|
|
After seeing that, I'd agree that it was unnecessary to change Anakin's spirit.

Thanks.
Although its not an utterly crucial scene, having Hayden in there looks weird. |
Although its not an utterly crucial scene, having Hayden in there looks weird. Shaw should have been left in the scene. However, I'm giddy over all the other changes and screenshots. |
Originally posted by Ranger After seeing that, I'd agree that it was unnecessary to change Anakin's spirit. I believe Anakin is going to invent this technique: --Nobody's done it in Ep 1 or 2 --He said in Ep2 that someday he'll make it so people don't have to die Therefore, since we don't yet know the technique, who are we to say if the ghost should be old Anakin or young Anakin? We do not yet know the rule about whether your spirit carries your at-death image or your final-pure (before Dark Side) image. For Ben & Yoda, these two rules would present the same result--not so for Anakin. We'll find out in May 2005, I guess. |
