Man!!! That's a really tough one. I went with Apollo 13, but could have picked a handful of the others as well.

I've seen almost all of those except for EdTv and A Beautiful Mind. I'd have to say Apollo 13.

I'm no fan of Howard but Backdraft was a decent flick. It's too bad he doesn't know how to use non-whites in non-bad guy roles.

Apollo 13.

However, his best work might just be television's Arrested Development.

Spoilered in case people haven't seen the movies . . .

Spoiler:
Of the movies that I can think of with "bad guys", the bad guy in:
- Backdraft was Scott Glenn,
- Splash was Eugene Levy (if you can consider him a "bad guy" in that movie),
- Willow was Joanne Whalley, Jean Marsh, and Pat Roach,
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas - Jim Carrey (although, admittedly, he was playing a green guy, but that isn't really Howard's fault ), and
- Ransom was Gary Sinise (with a trio of 3 white guys under him)

Of the other ones that I've seen (which is most of them) there weren't really any bad guys.

So I'm a little confused as to who you're thinking of when you make that statement (not being hostile here, just genuinely curious)?

The best most respectable one is Apollo 13, which I really like, but I voted other, because my favorite is Night Shift.

Oh, and I forgot about Parenthood. That's great as well.

Apollo 13 was alright, but what ruined it for me was every male character's haircut. God I hate crew cuts.
