This goes against yesterday's rumor of Jake Gyllenhaal. I had to look up who Henry Cavill is. He's certainly a better fit than Josh Hartnet or Jake Gyllenhaal. But why cast someone 6 years YOUNGER than Tom Welling? They're pretty close to casting the whole thing from The OC. This movie is deader than Jor-El.

bah. This whole Johnny Depp thing as Lex needs to end. I think they are just throwing his name around just to get some credibility behind this film. They know the script sucks, the director sucks and everyone else rumored to be in it sucks, so they throw JD in there to throw people for a loop.

They need to trash it and use the smallville cast 3 years after the show ends.

I agree that if they're going with a young cast they might as well wait for the Smallville group. Isn't Cavill only 21-22? Selma Blair as Lois seems too old if they're casting Clark/Supes so young. Everyone and their mothers seem to agree that Tom Welling would make a great Superman... how Warner Bros. hasn't got the word yet befuddles me.

This is one of those movies, like Indiana Jones 4, where I just don't even read the rumors anymore. They never lead anywhere. I'm waiting til a trailer is shown.

I do know that Superman is the most expensive movie never made. Everybody remembers that Tim Burton and Nic Cage were involved. What I think is funny is that they both got paid, Nic Cage to the tune of 15 million dollars. Talk about a great payday for nothing.

We need someone who looks muscular to play the role of Superman this time like Arnold Schwarzenegger.. "I'll be back!".. hehe
