"Best", not "favorite". That clearly is not his best performance.

IMO, Unforgiven is the best work of his career.

I really liked him in "The Firm" subtle and subdued, but when he realizes he's done to Jeanine Tripplehorn...that was pure acting.

Love him in The Royal Tenenbaums.

Absolutely. Hard to beat this performance. In fact, everyone is great in this film. But Hackman is good in just about everything I've seen him in.

He's great in The French Connection (haven't seen The Conversation yet, but I think I'll pick The Royal Tenenbaums.

He was excellent in "The Package", but from the list I voted for Little Bill.

Went with Unforgiven but enjoy him in most anything.
