Taxi "remake" trailer up.

Yahoo just posted the Taxi remake trailer.
At first I bemoaned the idea of this being remade as I loved the original films, especially with Latifah in the lead, (more for it being a girl than it being her) and I must say it doesnt look half bad, at least action wise, they even seem to copy a lot of stuff from the original, even the ending it seems. Cant blame them for changing the villains from Germans to supermodels though. I guess the action in this movie could be a foretelling of how Tim Story might handle the Fantastic Four movie.

It actually looks decent! The showed it on ET as well. Besides, the original wasn't that great anyway. It had interesting moments and nice scenery, but it never really worked as an action movie or a comedy. The Hollywood version looks like it might at least have some really brilliantly shot car chases.

Action looks decent - I detest the cast. Doesn't appear to have the same charm or humor. Looks like a typical hollywood buddy action flick. I reserve final judgement for after I see the film... but the trailer sucks nuts.

I thought that Taxi was a TV show? Besides, didn't they do this in the 80s with Mr. T? (DC Cab)

This is a remake of a French action-comedy film called "Taxi." The French version was produced by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Leon) and has 2 sequels already. They're massively overrated because they're in French and finding them makes you feel like you know of a cool action flick that no one else knows about. But really, they're just okay.

Taxi 2 was the best of the bunch....had good comedy & good action. This just looks pathetic (like Taxi 3)!

Hey , if they do something interesting and cool with the driving scenes I might be there, Im not naive or snobby enough to think the originals were anything that great, just fun fluff to me, at least they kept a lot of stuff from the original (the car changing and i liked the little touch of the changing steering wheel) , hell, it looks like they kept the ending also.

Looks amusing enough. Will this one have a Sylvester Stallone cameo? Ha, I'm amused by that being in Taxi 3.

You know, I haven't seen TAXI 3 yet, and somehow have managed to avoid that piece of information about it. So now you've ruined the surprise.

I did not know that Taxi was a movie by Luc Besson (love his work though!). I was seriously thinking that this was going to be the mutilation of another great TV show . . .

Well, he wrote and produced them, he seems to have a franchise of light action comedies going over in France with stuff he writes and produces. He's done Taxi 1-3, Yamakazi(I dont think he's involved in the sequel), Wasabi and The Transporter and Jet Li's Kiss of Death

=(

I honestly expected to see Ladtka, Louie, Banta, Iggy, and the rest of the bunch in the trailer.

So disappointed.

I'm gonna go watch "Man on the Moon."

Cheers.
