Help name movie

I need help naming a movie I was years ago. It is from the mid-late 80s and all I remember is the opening scene.
It involves a man, his wife and their approx 7 y/o son. The dad is taking a shower/getting ready in the bathroom, the son is eating breakfast at the table and the mom is in the kitchen fixing breakfast. The mom spills some water on the floor and before she cleans it up, she goes to remove the toast, IIRC, from the toaster and gets electrocuted. The son starts to run to her, but is stopped by the dad that knocks her away from the toaster with a broom. She is dead and this is about all I can recall.
I thought it starred Micahel Douglas, but nothing at IMDB looked like it.

Are you sure Michael Douglas was in it? Because that sounds just like the beginning of The Believers.

Oh yeah. It's the Believers. I don't remember much else about the movie, but I remember that scene.
Take the opening scene. Happy family life. Hubbie Cal Jamison (Martin Sheen) is ready for a hop in the shower. His wife is gonna make some coffee, spills some milk on the floor, and is promptly electrocuted by the diabolical Mr. Coffee-maker.
Taken from this review.

Probably confused it with Michael Douglas in The Serpent and the Rainbow.

I knew it was milk, not water like the OP said. Also, something similar happened in the movie with that guy..Cliff DeYoung..don't know that one...
but this is def "The Believers"...the one where the spiders comes out of the woman's cheek..had nightmares for years!
