I agree with most of the others...this looks really, really bad. Looks more like the pilot for a TV series than a big budget summer blockbuster.

It does look better than the first trailer.
But I still have grave, grave doubts about this film.

Looks like the cast and FX for this are going to be pretty darn solid. It'll all come down to the script. Will it suck, or will it be decent? Could go either way...

You were able to get an idea of a plot out of the trailer? Looks to me like origin story followed by action, not much of a plot, which IS the formula for a big budget summer blockbuster.
I am holding off ALL judgment for this movie. I want it to be good, but the screenplay is by the same person who brought us both the Hulk and the Punisher. Hulk I enjoyed (personally, but I understand why people didn't like it and it wasn't what it could have been) and Punisher just wasn't all that. So we will see.
I just think it's sad people are writing this movie off based on 30 second trailers.

I haven't written this off yet. The FF in the comics are FUN and goofy and larger-than-life in a very different way than Spider-Man or the X-men are. They're a family of adventurers, so the vibe is probably closer to "Lost In Space" (not the suck 1990s movie please) or "The Incredibles" which this will undoubtedly suffer compared to.
Anyway, not sure how good this will be, but I haven't been aghast at thet railers. They seem to capture some of the feeling of the comics, the guys playing the Torch and Mr. Fantastic seem good. Alba seems too "bimbo" to be Invisible Woman, though.

I think it looks like a fun movie, one of the writers wrote Goldeneye my favorite bond movie. I just dont see what people see so badly. looks great for a comic book movie

are they seeing this trailer or the older one? cause the newer one makes the movie look pretty good

Loved the "Clobberin' Time" bit, but aside from that, I feel that they have missed the mark. I always thought Dr. Doom was supposed to be more of a serious and psychological bad guy as opposed to whimsical and physical.

I think it looks pretty cool. Not sure about Alba as Sue Richards, but we'll see. Thing looks pretty good, and Johnny looked great. He was kinda funny too. They didn't show much of Reed Richards. Also not sure about Doom. No disfigurement? He should be more of an angry/crazy villain, IMO, than the whimsical/wise-cracking type. I will go check this out.

exactly, he looked fine to me, in the doctor's office. maybe he gets disfigured at a later time, or else why would he wear the mask?
and the human torch does look pretty damn good. and the lines he had in the preview were pretty funny. cocky guy, brash statements.
I always thought the thing got the short end of the stick from the gamma rays (sorry if this has been posted already):

FYI, The Hulk, which we both like, was written by the same guy. Jonathan Hensleigh was the main guy behind The Punisher. He was the director and first-billed writer.
Never read the comic. Don't read comics. But this looks fun. At the same time, the trailer makes it look a little to whimsy. I hope it keeps some serious tone. There's a time to spout catch phrases, and a time to shut up - I hope they keep quiet when they're supposed to.
The bulky wardrobe reminds me of Hellboy.

I'm hoping for whimsy too. This third trailer seems to suggest the film has it in spades. I love casting Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom but, as I mentioned before, his non-disfiguremenet seems questionable. And as others have mentioned, the lack of disfigurement makes the mask pointless.

Oh, I'm not asking for The French Connection (damn, that's the only constantly-serious movie that I can think of tonight ... what's up?). I'm looking for something in the range Spiderman or X-Men. But the trailer screams "The Mummy".
