What is the big deal about this movie?
Usually I know something about every movie but was this released directly to video or cable because I never heard of it until this past week.
I probably confused it with Cowboy bebop or some animated series I don't care about.

It was released in a limited theater run. Cowboy bebop was also released in a limited theater run. You may not live near a college town or just in a small town but most indie theaters got both titles.
What's the big deal about the MOVIE? well that's a question for movie talk
but along the dvd it's a pretty big deal since it was in such limited release in theaters not everyone got it and so a lot of folks first viewing was in the much anticipated dvd release of it.

I rented this last week since I was worried about getting burned on a blind buy. Good thing I did. I laughed at a couple parts but overall I just couldn't get into it. This movie was just too weird for its own good, IMHO. Did not live up to the hype.

I thought it was great but if you're expecing a comedy you might be disapointed. It's more of a drama/thriller with a lot of really bizarre stuff. Overall it's a good film and both Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis are awesome in it.
