The reviews on this movie are very positive. The Riddick character (imo) has a ton of potential. And David Twohy with a big budget...absolutely. I think he's quite talented (I liked the arrival and pitch black) and can't wait to see what he can do when he's cut loose.

So yeah...I'm all over this movie. I think this has the potential to really surprise people...it really does look good. Did you guys see the making of thing on the sci-fi channel? The set design in this is insanely impressive, and the scope of the movie looks enormous. And I'm all about big sci-fi space epics.

The fact that you are basing your decision on something called a 'tomatometer,' says quite a lot.

And the others that come in a thread about a Vin Diesel movie just to bitch about him or the movie need to get a life, skip the thread and just move along to the next one. But then again by the thread title the original poster seems to want everyone to bash it... but anyway....

I'm in. Pitch Black kicked ass and I think this will be a great 2 hours of mindless fun.

Just watched the 10 minute preview on MTV... pretty good little piece of action, I'll be there opening day.

The SFXs look like they are going to do the film justice.

Watched Pitch Black over the weekend for the first time. Didn't care for it. I'll skip this one.

Why complain about Vin's delivery in this movie? Riddick is supposed to be a cold character that keeps his emotions and motivations in check.

BTW, the game Escape From Butcher Bay (prequel to both movies) is awesome - I can't believe that they made a licensed game that not only rocks but makes me excited to see the new movie.

Liked Pitch Black and Below, I am seeing this based on Twohy being talented and inventive. I think this movie may be ALOT better than it looks.

I've enjoyed and appreciated just about everything David Twohy has done - I want to see this. But considering I don't go to the movies very often any more, it remains to be seen whether I'll see it in the theater.

Does anyone know if there is a link listing the theatres that accept the free pass included in the PB DVD?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Good interview with Vin. I had no idea he was a Dungeons & Dragons fanatic.

No not really considering the thread title - that's why there are negative remarks, I myself don't like when people threadcrap either - but in this case we're not and it's very easy to notice that we're not.

If somebody starts a thread praising Vin, I will not post in it.

Um, the tomatometer is the gauge of the nations critics and how they rate the film. Surely you've heard of rottentomatoes.com? Regardless, I'm in too.

Yeah, stupid name aside, the rotten tomatometer is a fantastic way to gage overall opinions of a film, and something I tend to look at to help form my opinions of what I should spend my money on.

Regarding Riddick, I don't really get the Diesel hate either. Something about big muscle bound guys. Kind of the same attitude Arnold and Stallone get from people who don't like their movies either.

But let's give Diesel a chance...listening to him in interviews, it really sounds like he has a lot more going on and that he does have a love for film. I'm unwilling to hate someone over Fast and Furious and XXX, which while stupid, were still mildly amusing. And quite frankly...excellent career moves.

On a side note, Escape From Butcher Bay is an awesome video game, better than one would expect from a video game based on a movie.
