Another problem with the original: why animate Calibos? He was the size of a normal person, and the makeup they used for close-ups looked perfectly fine. The animation clashed (no pun intended) with the live action stuff.

^ which begs the question, had the merging of non-human CGI limbs to 'live' actors been implemented before (in a feature length film) as in both 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe' and 'Prince Caspian'? I think the 'Jim Henson Greek Mythology' series had, but I'm not sure.

as for mythology or in this case, Chinese legend I'd love to see a film version of Katsuya Terada's 'The Monkey King' as I originally followed it in Heavy Metal magazine initially. The material and sheer feriocity and sexual explicitness seems like a film version in the making.

Seems like it's plot is bit different for sure from the classic one. Cool trailer too!

They used to do didn't they? The cinemas in PR annoy the hell out of me though. People on phones, brining their kids and generally making as much noise as possible. Went to the cinema whilst back in England over Christmas and it was worlds apart in every aspect. Damn i miss UK cinemas.

They did very briefly. But only for documentaries and I'm fairly certain the screen wasn't big enough to qualify.

Oh and you forgot out of focus projectors and projectionists that seem to think that 105dB is a constant rather than a peak volume. And I'm talking dialogue scenes here.

Yeah, I kinda chuckled when I saw that in the trailer. It's more prominent this time w/ the international trailer.

I'll again to admit, it's awesome to see Greek Mythology again. I feel like a kid again seeing these gods and whatnot.

Well guess I could've looked on Wikipedia and BOOM the plot's there. I guess I should spoiler it...

While I doubt it will happen, it would be cool if they had a bit on Medusa's origin at some point that isn't just spoken about. Maybe a pre-titles sequence.

"Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" is coming too. :D It actually looks kinda cool for a kid flick.

You know, the teaser didn't phase me for Percy Jones. I need more films like Clash of The Titans. My next hope could be God of War....which would be awesome cuz who doesn't like seeing a man kill greek gods?

The "Percy Jackson" books are really good, actually. I was a big Greek Mythology (and "Clash of the Titans") fan growing up but they pull some obscure references. So much so that it made me go look things up, which I haven't done in a good long while because of a book.

I have high hopes for both of these films.

I only want one because I want the character to be more than some random CGI creation. These movies never give that character much beyond the standard scary monster treatment, and a brief flashback illustrating what a tragic creature she is would add some depths. While I am not certain the being seen in the previews commanding the scorpions is Calibos, it would be cool to see him pre-creature as well.

If you look carefully in some of the trailers, you see the being controlling the scorpions is a member of Perseus' party. I think Calibos is the long-haired disfigured guy that has his back towards us and turns his head to face the camera.

I was thinking the same thing - very few actors can do that, for example Neeson, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee. All they have to do is talk and they make anything sound cool.

I used to look forward to thosr one liners from Sean Connery too but that was more funny sounding than cool sounding. Gerard Butler is my new favorite funny one liner:
