People will for the most part hold on to it if they can till it delist. atleast they will hold on to some piece of it.

God damn it, Day after tomorrow is starting to go up like a rocket. I know when I wake up it will be shorted like no one's business.. happens every time with stuff I'm doing good with.

why hold on to it?

I mean it will not make over $300 million in the 4 weeks more than likely. so cashing out and reinvesting in something would seem to be the best bet since you will not make more money by holding on to it.

I guess it also would depend on how much you owned.

Of course I am not one of the big hitters so what do I know anyway

Chances are shrek will hit that with no problem and then some. especially if it drops down to the low 300's.

I don't fully understand the delistings as much as the other stuff, but it seems like an option a lot of folks in the communuty take.

God.. How much of a drop will tomorrow bring..

I shorted it yesterday and, so far, it's down 10. It should continue down as people sell to free-up some money to buy other high-ticket stocks.

The trick is to catch it on the way back up...the 'ol yo-yo effect.

I think SHRK2 is going to delist above its adjust price, but I would never hold it in a port the size of the ports we're playing. You could make up to a 10% return on it at the end of four weeks, but meanwhile, all that cash is tied up when you could be investing in things that pay a far better rate of return.

Day trading it could be a viable strategy, but you have to catch the bounce at the right time. Given the amount of commissions involved, I decided to move my money into next week's openers.

In my main port (the one I've been playing for a few years), I simply kept my long in SHRK2. It's painful to see that red ink in the short term, but in the long term, I'm confident it will delist above its adjust price, and since I don't have anywhere better to put that cash for the next four weeks, I decided to keep the money tied up.

Very true, Jason. I'm treating it differently for my main port also. I have $32 million in cash, so it's no biggie tying the money up. Between yesterday and today my main port gained $10 million (wished I had more weekends like that )

For those who really know HSX- this next weekend is a holiday weekend so do movies that would cash out this weekend get all monies including monday or do they end on Sunday like usual?

The 5/7 wide releases should be cashing out.

The call/put prices are Friday-monday so yes, they will get all the weekends monies.

TOMOR is dropping like a god damn rock now. Was up to 9.0 up and now it's at 5. and dropping. atleast this happened when I was looking.

Whoo! This is the first time I've been able to successfully know when to get out and short it. I sold right around the time that TOMOR peaked and turned around and shorted it all.

I'll probably try to buy it back when it gets back in the $165 range.

The 5/7 wide releases should be cashing out.
The adjust formula is always listed on the Calendar. The Calendar is one of the most important links on the HSX website, and you should get in the habit of checking it frequently.

Because it's a 3-day weekend, all 3 wide openers (HELEN, SOULP, and TOMOR) are adjusting by the formula 2.5*Fri-Mon. Note that they're using a 2.5 multiplier instead of the usual 2.9. The adjusts will occur on Monday instead of the usual Sunday adjusts. The normal Monday delists will occur on Tuesday, and the normal Tuseday bond adjustments will occur on Wednesday.

yeah, usually they drop when I'm not looking. I bearly got out of Sin City after the drop on saturday with a little gain. But still tough. I picked it up when it was at 160 or so, so the gain was worth the ride. I hate these high priced stocks, the fee's are a bitch when getting into and out of them.

So with the big weekend for Shrek 2 do you guys think that the $80 million call for HPOT3 is realistic? It comes out on Wednesday and I am still a little unsure on whether I'm going to pick it up or short it.

HP3 will be out in the full glory of summer, so I think 80 million for potter is very reasonable.

actually I knew about the additional day for the openers. I was more wondering about the stocks that would be delisting that weekend- movies that went wide 5/7

I was unsure if they got the monday monies.

No calendar for that week is listed yet.

I getcha now. I'm pretty sure they do get the Monday money, but I can't imagine there will be lots of people paying to see Van Helsing next Monday.
