She never saw Ferris Bueller!
The other night I brought a date home to watch a movie. We decided to watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Why? Because she said she had NEVER seen it.
I thought, wow, what would it be like to sit down and watch that movie and not know what's going to happen, not know the punchlines, and all that.
And what would it be like to watch a movie I love like it was the first time again?
Best example - Shawshank Redemption. I love that movie. But I would really love to be able to watch it and not know the ending. The first time I saw it, it blew me away.
So what other movies would some of you like to be able to watch as if it was the first time?

I've never seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
I'd love to watch Fight Club, Memento, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction, and The Usual Suspects again for the first time.

Methinks the forum is just fine. If you read his post to start the thread, he asked what movies people would want to see again for the first time. No need to make him feel like he's done something wrong just because some bonehead wants to know how his date went.
And "Jackskeleton"...I use the term "bonehead" with the utmost respect.

Ferris Bueller is a cult thing. Also it's nostalgia. I saw it for the first time a couple years ago and I didn't think it was good at all. The jokes were not funny at all. The only good thing about the movie was it had Ben Stein.

You want me to believe that a member for only 1 month has been able to get a date when some members have been trying for years.
I want to see a body bring this girlfriend to my office!
Bueller is on line 2....

My favorite scene:
Chez Quis Maitre'd : Hello may I help you?
Ferris : You can sure as hell try. Hi, I'm Abe Froman, party of 3 for 12.
Ferris : Is there a problem?
Chez Quis Maitre'd : You're Abe Froman? The sausage king of Chicago.
Ferris : Ya, that's me.
Chez Quis Maitre'd : Listen young man, entrenuer, I'm very busy here. Why don't you take the kids and go back to the clubhouse.
Ferris : Are you suggesting that I'm not who I say I am?
Chez Quis Maitre'd : I'm suggesting you leave before I have to get snooty!
Ferris : Snooty?
Chez Quis Maitre'd : Snotty!
Ferris : Snooty!
Cam : Okay Abe, let's go.

Since thread has nothing to do with anything specific to DVDs, moving to Movie Talk.
Guys, some of you have been told this many times over, but please report threads that you think need to be moved in the future, rather than posting it in the threads. As you can see, posting about it tends to starts a completely different discussion that has nothing to do with the thread starter's topic. And now that the thread is in the right forum, the posts saying that it needs to be moved are even more out of place.

No time for saying your sorry. Just do what I did, delete the derail post and we get this thread back to action.
As for films I wish I could watch for a first time again. Fight Club. Such a great film and I would like to pick up the clues again for the first time.
I recall watching godfather with someone who had never seen it. Good times good times. Ferris Bueller seems like one of those you figure anyone would have watched atleast on tv by now.

Not a movie, but a TV show. I wish I could erase my memory of Babylon 5 so season 3 and 4 could kick me in the nuts all over again. It still works, but it'll never have the "Holy crap they did WHAT?!!" feeling about it ever again.
