PEDRO FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

This movie was great every scene has a funny moment. I thought the beggining credits were smart. I think PEDRO stole the show he was halarious without even trying to be. I also enjoyed all the physical comedy.

*shrug* Okay, here it is.

Spoiler:
They walk, they talk, he keeps stalling as his flight time gets closer. They end up back at her place.

"Baby, you're gonna miss that plane."

"I know."

Fade to black.

If it does open wide, it won't be a whole lot wider. There is not much of an audience for this.

While I thoroughly enjoyed it, not everyone has seen the first one and Ethan Hawke isn't exactly a star at all.

Too bad, but the dvd will be here before you know it.

I caught it in Boston last week.

Linklater has created one of the best bookend sets of films ever. THe second was fantastic. Ending was fantastic. I'm in love with this flick just as I am in love with the first one.

I loved that it was only 80 minutes of real time. It was so short, and I didn't want it to end. I hung on to every minute, which is what he wants us to do; hang on to the few moments we have and cherish them.

Since no one has said it, you don't have to have seen the first one to enjoy this one.

hardly an idiot, it's probably a presentation issue. I didn't notice any problems with the sync.

Oh, and Before Sunset is an exceptional picture, so far the best new American film this year.

well, i just got back from the 2 hour drive to see this movie in dallas and i was absolutely floored. to me, this was sooo much better than the first one. the ending was great and leaves you wanting more. i know that before i said i was just thankful for the 80 minutes, but this movie could've gone on for hours more and i would not have cared.

just about everything in this movie was great. the acting was superb. julie delpy not only looked great but was awesome in the car scene. that was some compelling stuff. and some of the best parts of the movie are when there is no dialogue spoken at all, just looks and glances.

i am glad that they waiting nine years for a sequel. i think that it gave the characters much more depth and having the actors in on the writing process helped too i am sure.

the dvd can't come soon enough.

I just watched Before Sunrise on DVD and was floored by how great it was just listening to two people talk for ninety minutes while strolling around Vienna. I'll probably wait for Before Sunset on DVD, but it's definitely on my list of movies I MUST see.

I saw it tonight and I have to say I did the same thing. I was more attached to these characters because you knew what happened the first they met and how many years its been since they last saw each other. It's a great movie that leaves you wanting more at the end. Oh, and you DO need to see the first movie before seeing this.

Before Sunset nominated for Best Original Screenplay

Didn't know this was adapted, but I am glad that they decided to give a nod to this small and highly intelligent film. Of all the noms. this morning, this was the biggest surprise to me, everything else was like The Golden Globes round 2.

Hmmm, I also thought this was Linklater's original story. Odd.

Maybe because it's a sequel?

I don't get it either. I thought maybe there was a novelization written before the movie came out, but if that's the case, I can't find any evidence of it.

Hey, I'm retarded. In my sleepy state I somehow read "Before Sunset" as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

Now that you mention it, I can't think of a sequel ever getting nominated for Best Screenplay that wasn't based on a book (Godfather Part II, Return of the King). I guess sequels are automatically considered adapted.

Would it be considered "adapted" somehow because it's credited to Linklater, Hawke, and Delpy? Maybe the Academy considers an improvised "screenplay" based on an original story an adaption? (Or since Hawke and Delpy weren't credited on the screenplay for the first movie, their extra credits would qualify it as such?)

Vera Drake (like all Mike Leigh scripts) was developed in a similar way, through improvisatory sessions with the cast, and that's in the original script category.

Maybe they'll need a "Best Screenplay (Improvised)" category some day.

it's nominated for "Best Adapted" because its "based on characters created by Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan".
