Raiders of the Lost Ark Film Reel Question
Hey guys,
A couple of days ago I stumbled upon an original 70mm full film print of Raiders of the Lost Ark in a box. The box has the Lucasfilm logo on it, and the film is just wound in 5 seperate bundles not on the actual reels, but just wound together nicely. So my question... is there any value to this, I mean like real value? I searched fleabay and couldn't find anything from completed auctions. Thanks for the help.

I'm sure there is some sort of value... don't know where you'd go to sell something like that though... I've got 10 bucks if you'll take that
MATT
yeah...where does one just stumble upon full prints of movies?

No need to go into detail, but let's just say friends in the industry treat me well
Thanks for the help, I'll probably end up keeping it as some nice memorabelia (sp?).

A few years ago I was interested in acquiring prints of some of my favorite films. I couldn't find anyone selling them on ebay. I imagine this could be worth quite a few to the right collector.

The rest you could just sell as a "grab bag" I suppose.

A 70MM print of RAIDERS?
How about, share it with the rest of the world!
You can't legally sell it. Give it back to Paramount/Lucasfilm so it can be presented around the world.
I know I would love to see it.

Do you know for sure it's the entire film?
Here's the nearest thing I could find on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5254&rd=1#info
Granted, it's 35mm and Lethal Weapon 3
Also, while I know DVDTalkers know everything in the world, it might not be a bad idea to actually ask someone who collects these things:

Ya know, I've never seen a 70mm print of this movie. That's a big time dream for me. I don't live in a 70mm mecca, so I'm very jealous!
70mm RAIDERS and a Todd-AO print of FLASH GORDON (1980) are on the top of my list...

Not a bad idea, but I would thing they have a few of the 70mm prints around. I could be wrong though. I may check with the GM of the Royal Oak Main Art Theater here and see if she would want to do a special screening/engagement.

The right collector (ie. rich guys with the home facilities to project 70mm) would probably pay a fortune for this. The dificulty is getting in touch with a collector. This is the kind of thing where 99.9% of people would give you a few hundred bucks for it, but the right 0.01% might pay thousands or tens of thousands (particularly if it isn't too faded and is mag striped).
