Actors/Actresses who Die to play certain roles

Just got done going to the movies last week and noticed that Denzel Washington has died in at least 3 of his films.

1. Glory
2. Training Day
3.
Spoiler:
Man on Fire

That makes 3 deaths in 3 different roles.

Tom Hanks has died in:

1. Philadelphia
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. Road to Perdition

Again, 3 deaths in 3 different roles.

Can anyone list additional examples?

While the roles may be different for
each movie, it isn't necessary.

Don't mean to overly macabre. Just thought this could be an interesting thread to show off some movie knowledge.

Can you have the same character actually die twice?

The first post is hilarious, since you can figure out exactly what the spoilered third movie is based on other comments in the post. And you missed a major Denzel Death:

Spoiler:
..............Glory...............

Chow Yun-Fat probably has the highest death ratio of any movie actor. It would be easier to list the movies he survives in. And those he makes it through, he's usually pretty badly beat up by the end.

Yaphet Kotto seems to have a low survival rate as well.

I wonder who is the biggest actor out there who has never died in a role?

He survived Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare although I think that movie was more about someone else dying .

I guess they figure everyone's seen Glory and Training Day already. This thread is dumb.

So basically you can list any actor or actress that ever died in a movie.

And if it is more than a year or two old you don't have to worry about spoiling the ending for anyone.

This is a really dumb thread. I would say most actors/actresses have died in a movie.

More challenging would be to come up with ones that have never died.

Like Tom Cruise

Sean Connery:
Highlander
Highlander II (nothing like dying twice!)
The Untouchables
The Avengers
Dragonheart (Yes, this one counts!)

Gary Oldman:
Fifth Element
Dracula
JFK
Lost In Space (one of his characters!)
Air Force One
Spoiler:
Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix - assuming he stays on in the role!

I dunno, I kinda like kcbrett's idea of trying to think of actors whose characters haven't died. This way's just a bit too easy, especially for actors who tend to play villians (Gary Oldman, Jeremy Irons, etc).

As far as I know off the top of my head, none of Vin Diesel's characters have died. Of course, he hasn't been in that many movies compared to say, Tom Cruise.

Yeah, that was a great idea of kcbrett. Why didn't somebody else in this thread think of it first?

Agreed. I thought this was going to be a thread about actors like Massimo Troisi in Il Postino.

Worst. Thread. Ever.

See -- case in point. The above post spoils The Last Samurai. Do not highlight the spoiler if you don't want to know about the death of a character in The Last Samurai.

Except how the f*!#@ am I supposed to know that necros is spoiling The Last Samurai unless I highlight his post?

This thread should be locked, then shot, then set on fire, then shot again, then dumped in the sea.
