Yeah, Ghost Rider is much more popular now. I'd love to see an Iron Man movie, that could be really cool. Spidey, looks good but some of the others I'm not sure about. I really like the Black Widow character, but I'm not sure she has enough name recognition to headline a movie.

Some more info...
--------------------------------------------
Notes From the Marvel Quarter 1 Conference Call Source: Marvel Enterprises Tuesday, May 4, 2004

Marvel Enterprises' Quarter One Conference Call took place this morning, and while you can view Marvel Studios' upcoming release slate in full here, Avi Arad added more comments on each film. If you'd like to listen to what Arad said, the audio clip is available here.

-Arad said that The Punisher will be released internationally starting in September. They are hoping to have The Punisher 2 ready by next fall. Thomas Jane is signed for three films and Jonathan Hensleigh will be back to write and direct as well.

-Spider-Man 2 will get a 60 second spot on this Thursday's "Friends" finale. The sequel also includes a new Marvel logo treatment.

-They've got a writer, director (David Hayter) and actress for Black Widow, though they can't announce the actress just yet.

-Blade: Trinity was just screen-tested (as you read here) and that went "incredibly well". New Line is very confident and will promote the film aggresivelly.

-Man-Thing is complete, they just received the finished print. They'll be testing it and then determine an exact release date.

-Elektra starts production today and will be PG-13.

-Fantastic Four starts filming in August. It will have 5 build-in toy lines for the different characters in the film. The "funny family action film" will be rated PG-13. Activision is making a game based on the film too.

-Iron Man will be PG-13 and will have a major toy line. Activision is creating a game based on the movie.

-Luke Cage has a script (Ben Ramsey), director (John Singleton) and actors who they can't announce yet.

-They've started pre-production on the PG-13 Ghost Rider adaptation.

Elektra was greenlighted while DareDevil 2 went into limbo, simple as that.

PG-13 Ghost Rider? Yep...it's going to suck. Wish Norrington was still on board for it.

Too bad no Silver Surfer. There had been buzz about a potential project.

I had heard something awhile back about a Dazzler movie with Britney Spears. Kinda glad to see it's not happening.

dont be so sure yet..... if they did anything with the Dazzler character it would be as a X-men cameo first ..... hence Brittany could short one liner in the next Xmen movie or maybe the 4th

lets hope not,but stranger things have happened (maddona in last bond flick)

Hmm, they're adapting just about every Marvel comic except the two I'd really like to see movies of: "Rom - Spaceknight" and "Groo the Wanderer" (technically Epic, which was part of Marvel).

HHMMMM no mention of a Wolverine movie or Alien Legion ( once again an Epic/Marvel comic) I'd love to see those two.

Hmmm...

I was hoping for them to shoot X-Men 3 and 4 simultaneously featuring the Dark Phoenix saga.

Of course, 2006 is a long way off.

Some odd choices, but if it's bad I don't have to see it.

I'd be interested in a Namor or Dr Strange movie but I dunno about Deathlok. He was never really one of the bigger characters. The choice seems kind of strange to me.

Where the hell are the DC Comics movies? Don't those idiots know that they have more than just Batman and Superman?

Blade is David Goyer, who wrote the previous 2. X3 is probably Singer.

As for DC... *cough*CATWOMAN*cough*

Anyone else think Marvel is going to oversaturate the market and kill the superhero craze faster than it started? Alot of these characters have little to no mainstream fanbase (Iron Fist, Black Panther, Luke Cage). The only safe bets seem to be Spidey, Blade and X-Men. I'm surprised there's even talk of Hulk 2 or Punisher 2, neither were exactly blockbusters.

I'm sure DC/Warner Bros. will strike back eventually. Batman Begins opens in Summer 2005. Other than their safest property in Batman, they really have no reason to jump into such a crowded market. They have plenty of potential blockbusters that they can greenlight at any time like Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, etc.

I'd crap myself if they announced a Green Lantern or Green Arrow project!

Now a Green Arrow movie could be cool. A modern day Robin Hood type thing, perhaps?
