Re: Harry Potter movies: Snape was never a villain. He just hates Harry. And we all know that Voldemort is the villain anyway.

Rickman is terrific. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.

Oh shit! I just saw a promo for an HBO movie with Rickman and Mos Def. It's called "Something the Lord Made" and it looks like it might be really good. I think Mos Def has been showing he's serious about acting and of course Rickman "is the man".

Rickman RULED Sense and Sensibility!! I could never understand how "Marianne" could even think about "Willowby" when she had this gorgeous, sexy, amazing Col. (who had more $$) so in love with her. What an idiot!

Loved him in Galaxy Quest. Bought the movie just for him.

Rickman rocks. As others have said he just disappears into the roles he plays. And he's proven he can be villainous (Die Hard, Robin Hood), Sympathetic(Truly Madly Deeply) or funny (Dogma - he was hilarious).

I know, it almost took me out of the movie! I like a man with character, not the cookie-cutter beauty look of that young boy. Rickman looked good in those riding boots that can only be worn in a period piece.
