Missing Kill Bill fight?

Hey, maybe this has been discussed in another thread, but I don't recall it being brought up.

In the original Kill Bill teaser trailer (it can be found on the DVD, FYI), there is a glimpse of a black man in Eastern-style clothing swinging a samurai sword around. It wasn't in Volume 1, and I didn't see it in Volume 2 either.

Anyone know what's up with this dude? Anyone know what the scene was about, and maybe why it got cut?

Much grass.

It was a scene where "The Bride"witnesses first hand of Bill carrying out a mission.

In this sequence he takes out 3 Chinese assassins and fights Michael Jai White.

Coming soon to deleted scenes.

Removed "The Bride's" name - Blake

There is a lot of these threads of subject matter already covered in the MANY Kill bill threads already around.

Mondo has it down correctly.

Another little scene that has gone missing is Elle Driver firing an M-16 outdoors at someone. This can be briefly seen in one of the bootleg trailers on the cd for the Vol-1 soundtrack.

You know, when they purposefully dont include a name and even go as far to BEEP it out of the film, it would be nice to not just see it in a random post. Thats what spoilers are for. You think maybe you could have referred to her as the Bride even. Ive been trying to avoid seeing this, but now its too late, and i didnt even have a choice.

And it doesn't even reveal anything crucial.

I wish he had kept that scene in the movie. But I guess QT was striving for Vol. 1 to be all action and Vol. 2 to be all talk.

Actually, it was taken out because it was meant as Bill's introduction to the audience, and he decided the introduction at the wedding chapel was ultimately a better and more powerful introduction, and I agree 100% on that. I loved the hell out of that scene.

OK, first, the grammarian in me has to point out there is a difference between the words "purposely" and "purposefully," and here we're talking about purposely entering a thread. That said ...

Then why did God invent spoiler tags?

The thread title is vague and could have been about a fight missing in Vol. 1.

Noted proper use of purposely (actually, I just coped what the previous poster had typed, I was being lazy.. I would like to think I'd normally use the word properly).

Spoiler tags, yes, they are good. But you can't expect to poke around and not get burned. Potentially anything you read about a movie could be spoiler laden without warning; I've read many things I wish I hadn't but I accept that's the price I pay for peeking as opposed to expecting everybody to cater to my having not seen the movie. Now, proper spoiler tag use is always up for debate on where it's needed or not, or when to stop using them, etc.. but the only guaranteed way to be safe is abstinence.

Spoilers in thread titles, I can see, but when you come in and bitch about having a movie spoiled for you (and it hardly is crucial info as others have pointed out), maybe you shouldn't have read the thread in the first place. I chose not to read any KB threads until I got a chance to see it. Not that hard to do.

Yes, this will ruin the entire film for you! [insert sarcasm here]

Major spoiler or not, nowhere in the thread title did it make a reference to Volume 2 and in Volume 1, The Bride's name was not revealed and protected as a secret. Therefore, it should be in spoiler tags - whether it ruins the film or not.

I'll reserve stating which introduction was better until after watching the deleted fight scene. Of course, QT decided on the long slow drawn-out chapel scene - so that is what we must come to accept.

I for one believe this fight should have been in the movie to at least show Bill being able to handle himself, to me all he looked like he was capable of was holding a gun and spouting philosophy.

See, this is the reason I liked that it wasn't included. I love the "mysterious" bad-ass factor he's got going in the movie current. I think it works better only hearing or thinking about what he can really do, but that's just me; I'm a sucker for something being setup having to actually SHOW the audience.

While I think he acted his ass of I didnt get the feeling that he was a bad ass that can handle himself in a fight. Just me I guess.

Must have been just you. I fully was under the impression that he was a bad ass. Hell the shooting itself was showing how he was one bad ass.

Well I cannot comment if QT made the right choice in not including it, but hey I loved the movies, so I'm not complaining. All I want is to see the scene as a deleted scene. That'll make me happy.

Also, I had heard rumors of a second anime segment being produced that was supposed to be in Vol. 2. Was that cut, or am I just imagining things?

That seems to be the word going around the camp fire. Running long as it was and just was cut. Hopefully on the dvd.

I posted a pic of it one of the zillion Kill Bill threads here. It was a closeup shot of the The Bride as she was beaten up. And there was another pic I saw....Lemme see if I can find it....Here:

If there really was such a segment, I hope it shows up somewhere, either as a deleted scene, or in the eventual extended cut.

I think that's a good point about Bill's abilities. If you're a movie nerd (as I think everyone here is to some extent), you probably already knew that Bill was supposed to be the ultimate bad ass in every form of combat. You've probably read about the story and what not. If you're just a regular person, you might not get the sense that he's a good swordfighter at all. You know he's probably sneaky and devious and good with a gun, so you still have the sense of danger. But a deadly swordsman? Not really.

Maybe it's for the better, as he hardly put up an epic fight anyway.
