The official Kill Bill is gonna slay the BO and make $100million this weekend thread!

I swear I have not seen more TV advertisments for a film than I have for Kill Bill in a LONG time! This movie is gonna make at least $100,000,000 over the weekend I can just feel it! Everyone and their mother is talking about it and I havent seen this much pre movie buzz in ages! So what do you guys think? What will be KB's box office take this weekend? Is it going to slay the competition sideways or what?

It's going to be lucky to make $30 million this opening weekend.

The first one only made $22 million opening weekend. While the DVD sold 2 million units in it's first day, it doesn't beat the 4.4 that Matrix Reloaded sold in it's first day.

And we all know how Revolutions did.

not sure, the people who were turned off by pt 1 due to the violence, aren't gonna want to see part 2 even though it is supposingly less violent. so i say less then 25 with about 70 overall

those who were turned away after Vol 1 will still want to see the outcome. Also, those who just saw it for the first time when they bought the dvd on tuesday want to see it, this will easily make it a 20+ weekend.

now is this discussion on how much the film is making since there is already a FILM discussion going on in another thread?

It won't do 100 million this weekend, but it will more than likely make more than that in its overall domestic gross. It should do better than the first one, especially with the new built in audience who didn't see Vol 1 until the DVD came out.

Change of poll

Well I did the poll in a hastly fashion, so mods if you could, can you change it to say the following:

1-It will make between $10-$25 Million

2-It will make between $25-$50 Million

2-It will make between $50-$75 Million

4-It will make between $75-$100 Million

More realistic IMO.

Those who divide long movies into volumes will come to know me well. I'll be seeing the punisher this weekend. I'm a huge fan of the comic and his view of justice. kill bill v.2 will be seen in theatres eventually though.

I voted 10-25 million.

You're crazy if you think it'll make over 100 million. The first film hasn't even made that much in several months of release.

I invite all of you box-office experts who aren't already playing to my HSX thread (see link in my sig). Put your money where your mouth is.*

I disagree. Man on Fire will be #1 next week. Followed closely by 13 Going on 30 and then Kill Bill vol 2

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kill Bill's Friday BO take be unimpressive while it's Saturday/Sunday #'s would go through the roof. Releasing vol 1. was a good idea as people will buy or rent it for Friday viewing and then Hit the theaters on Saturday or Sunday for part 2.

Oh yeah and it'll make 32 million for the Weekend.

You shouldn't change polls after you make em - I don't know if they even can. Then you could have a poll that was like

1. I am in favor of ice cream
2. I think ice cream is bad

and then later after people have been voting, change it to:

1. I am in favor of baby murdering
2. I think eating babies is much better

18-20 million tops.

The first made 22 million and this will make less money.

I think it might actually make less than the first one its opening weekend. A lot of people went into it knowing nothing about it save for what they read in reviews, a majority of which were positive. Most of those people either rushed out of the theater with the opening shot (no pun intended) of Uma getting blasted, or whispered :"this is stupid" once the anime sequence hit then left.
