Yes, but don't you think that in this instance, it's warranted? I mean, we all get sick of the incessant Lucas, Disney, Hulk, etc. bashing. But I think if you showed this trailer to anyone, not just DVDTalk members, you'd probably get a pretty large consensus that it just looks bad.
You're probably right. But you know what? I can think of a few films with trailers that "underwhelmed" and or had mass negative reviews BEFORE IT CAME OUT that 'I' ended up liking or even loving. "Titanic" and "The 13 Warrior" both come to mind. I can also think of films where the Trailer kicked ass and everyone was positive on it before it came out and I hated the film when I saw it. "Ghostbusters" and "A Beautiful Mind" fit that bill.

They should have made Catman instead, starring Pierce Brosnan.

I don't tend to bash movies until after I've seen them, but this one, well, it looks to be one that I may (or may not) catch on cable.

I don't know if you're joking but wasn't one of the characters that trained Selina Kyle how to fight a male character called Wildcat or something like that? He was a boxer who became a hero back in Golden Age right?

Yup, Ted Grant AKA Wildcat kicks much ass. He was/is a longstanding member of the Justice Society of America (JSA).

The mediocre trailer that established this post was actually an April Fools Joke from movie-list.com. An official trailer for Cat Woman doesn't yet exist.

How was it an April Fools Joke? It had all actual footage from the movie (terrible looking footage). It wasn't 'fake' footage. Hallie's awful lines were actually being read by Hallie. What exactly was fake about it? The "Cream, Straight Up" line is in the movie....so the April Fool's Joke wasn't really a joke at all. That IS the movie, whether the trailer was official or not.

I think it was an early workprint trailer that the studio wasn't planning on releasing. Maybe they were gonna test it and see the reaction. I'm sure they didn't plan on it being released to the internet.

Maybe, you're right:
http://www.movie-list.com/pastupdates.shtml
scroll down to Apr 2 and it reads
"Just to clarify... The Catwoman trailer that we posted yesterday was not the bootleg trailer that has been going around, but our own April Fools joke. If you watched it, I'm sure you figured that out. The bootleg trailer itself, was not a joke, but a test trailer that was leaked. The story that claimed it wasn't real, was in fact the joke. I hope everyone is clear on that now. "

I didn't know there was a work print trailer released.

The actual trailer is out. It's going to debut this weekend or next weekend (either on New York Minute or Troy).

You can check it out here:

I saw the bootleg trailer, and honestly this one doesn't look much better. The Warner Bros./Village RoadShow Logo did look kinda cool, I guess.

The new trailer does look better, but that's probably because Halle doesn't do any acting in it and there's no awful dialogue like the first one. This trailer actually feels like a teaser since it really shows no story or characters other than a couple of action scenes.

Give this film a chance. I remember everyone bashed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen before they even saw it, and we all know how that turned out.
