DVD Talk God
looks OK. Spotted a couple of Office Space vets, Steven Root and Gary Cole.
I think Ben and Vince should've reversed roles in this flick, though. Vince did a great job w/ the villain in Starsky and Hutch.

I did chuckle at the trailer, but the film doesn't look that good. Hopefully time will tell come summer. I also did notice Jason Bateman in the trailer, it's nice to see him get more work.

Ben Stiller has been making movies like crazy. He's like the Steven King of Hollywood.

It looks to have the same type of comedy (maybe a little tamer) as Baseketball. Same thing though with different actors and sport

And personally, I think they made a smart move opening it in June . . . it would have gotten crushed if it came out in July. Maybe late May would have been even smarter . . .

I don't know, I was really looking forward to this from just hearing the title and who was in it. Now that I know how it's going to be, it looks pretty lame. I thought it would be a bit different, not the whole save the gym concept. I think it would have been a better idea to have them as competitive players from the get go, and not make Dodgeball out to be a major sport.
Maybe have it as like a minor league sport or something underground(well maybe it is like that, the trailer isn't showing it so well), but have all the characters have the ego of a big league player.
I think even if it was shot as a mockumentary, that would've been funny. Have all the characters as over the top as possible, and toss in Will Ferrel and Jack Black, that would about as perfect of a comedy as you could get for me. They really have a great opportunity to make fun of all the classic sports movies, but not be a spoof. Maybe it'll be better than the trailer, I hope anyway, it sounds like a good idea.
