Top flops...

Help me settle a bet. What movies lost the most money?

Heaven's Gate? Cutthroat Island? Town and Country? The Postman? Does anyone have a good list of the top ten?

I think Town and Country is #1 right now, 92 million budget, boxoffice: 6.7 million. Cutthroat Island is up there too, as is Adventures of Pluto Nash. This is killing me. Any help?

In adjusted dollars, you might be right, but I think the movie was a hit.

Also, Waterworld (amazingly) actually made a fair amount of money.

Ishtar's a good bet.

Raise the Titanic cost $36 Million in 1980 and made $3Million

Heaven's Gate made $2Million on an investment of $44Million

Town and Country is another disaster.

As is Pluto Nash...

Ha, I love how everyone thinks this movie bombed. It made it's money back!

Now the Postman on the other hand...

I was going to guess HUDSON HAWK. However, the problem with the story that was linked to is that it only considers the US theatrical run profit - and not foreign box office and home video sales. I know Costner has stated publically that POSTMAN made back its money and WATERWORLD was actually very profitable (it made $255 million worldwide and $42 million in rentals for heaven's sake!).

Hm. Hm. Hm. Hm. Hm. Hm. Hm.

Eddie Murphy really needs to stop letting his kids pick his roles.
