All the crap he has made since 2009 has tarnished his legacy

I'm hoping Mandy brings him back up a notch.

I disagree.

Does Donald Pleasence have a tarnished legacy? Klaus Kinski? Dennis Hopper? Christopher Lee? Christopher Walken? Robert De Niro?

Lots of actors do lots of crap, but the great stuff they do is what they'll be remembered for. The rest just falls to the side.

I disagree as well. And Returning to Las Vegas will bring him more Oscar gold.

So little of the crap actually slips into theaters, and into mainstream vision, that I don’t think any of it moves the legacy needle.

He was terrific in Joe, though.

I watched Wild at Heart this year for the first time since it was in theaters. I liked it a lot then. I was a lot less impressed by Cage this time around.

Re: The Nicolas Cage Outburst

If anyone follows Vudu on facebook, every hour this morning they've made a post highlighting a Nic Cage movie they have in their $4.99 sale. I saw both The Wicker Man and Drive Angry in that sale. I haven't seen either one, but I'm considering a blind buy just to see if they are bad movies or so bad its good type of movies.

Re: The Nicolas Cage Outburst

Didn't Cage do a bunch of stuff to dig himself out of a tax hole?

Anyway, what he really needs is a TV series...someone to give him a character to develop on a weekly basis.

I saw Drive Angry and remember it as being absurdly over the top, but not a bad watch.

Never understood the appeal. It was Lynch's worst by a mile until Inland Empire.

The Rock is my favorite movie, so I’m ok with Cage. I really like the National Treasure films too.

The guy just wants to make a living. Can’t blame him.

But those guys are not the source of constant jokes or ridicule by comedians.

I think the difference with Cage over those other actors is when Cage goes over the top, that motherfucker goes OVER THE TOP!

I agree on Wild at Heart. Saw it in the theater when it came out and it was about 3/4 full and we all watched it in stunned silence and most left shaking their heads.
