I just watched Rebecca (1940) totally has you guessing at the end on how Maxim got off.

How can you list multiple movies for "Best" ending? Best implies a singular.

Anyway, the best ending ever is for a little-known movie called Dream Lover, starring James Spader.

The Godfather
To Kill a Mockingbird
Schindler's List (where the survivors and their descendents appear at the very end, not the part where Schindler breaks down)

First one that came to mind was The Usual Suspects. But there are just so many.

Gotta Second "Escape from L.A." as a great nihilistic ending. although the ending of Almost any 80's John Carpenter Movie Rules ( Thing, They Live, Prince of Darkness...etc.).

I think the ending of Igby Goes Down at the funeral is great. The music, the shots, everything just builds up and makes me want to cry, and I'm not sure if it's out of sadness or happiness. I love that ending.

For a different type of ending, I think Election has one of the funniest endings =P. I love it.

That was my first thought along with usual suspects. I'm surprised no one said it on the first page.

The Usual Suspects will most definitley go down in my book as the best movie ending of all time. It'd knock anyone on their ass.

Return Of The King would also be up there as well. But I'll put that down as the BEST ending to a SERIES ever.

Am I the only person who saw the ending for The Usual Suspects coming from a mile away? I thought it was way too transparent, and I'm not that guy who always sees every twist coming, either.
