Well at least someone talented is trying to get the Batman franchise off the ground again (Christopher Nolan AND Christan Bale), so we win one (Batman) and we lose one (Superman).

Beyonce Knowles CAN NOT ACT.
The problem with casting Lois Lane is all the ideas are pointing towards casting babes in their early 20s. If someone suggested a late 20s / early 30s actress there'd be more positive feedback. I mean, Margot Kidder was not a "babe." However, she could hold her own against Gene Hackman and Chris Reeve and is the standard all Lois Lanes of the future will be judged against.
And Johnny Depp does not have the physical stature or seething rage to play Lex Luthor. How about Dennis Haysbert?

Beyonce...... eye candy....... Lois Lane... Eye candy
Acting....... Not Beyonce......
Sorry but she stunk in all of her movies and she is just good for shaking what she has and singing.

I don't think Lois has to be simply eye candy. She admittedly has a serious vision problem but in the Lois and Clark series she was a good character, even better than the movies. After the first Superman, Movie Lois was reduced to a damsel in distress.

What is everyone freaking out about?

An anonymous source. Wow how credible. I'm guessing the source really is a 12 year old kid or a 40 year old basement dweller. They might as well say Barbara Walters is up for Lois Lane's part, McCauley Culkin is up for Perry White and Jar Jar Binks is going to play Jimmy Olson. Besides Lex, the other main villian will be Powerpuff Girls' MojO Jojo. The entire movie takes place during the Jurrassic Age and Superman's powers are gained when he drops a toaster in his tub. Superman himself will be done stop-motion using a Cobra Commander figure.Originally posted by White Knight

The day we see ANYTHING official about this movie I will be very surprised. It seems to be stuck in eternal limbo and WB doesn't know how to handle it in the slightest.

Because rumors often have a hint of truth behind them. And the fact that Beyonce even ran through the heads of one of the WB execs is cause for concern.Originally posted by resinrats

I don't know. I've always pictured Lois Lane as a spunky New York Jewess-type. You know who would be perfect? Sex and the City's Kirstin Davis. She looks the part, she's a decent actress, I'd like to see her skirt fluttering up around her head as she's tossed off of a building, and DJ! No rules! Straight street!!!
I can't get enough of those U Got Served ads...

And for God's sake, give the Superman property to director Ridley Scott. Give him $150 million to make the movie and leave him the hell alone to make it!!!

Johnny? Easily - that man can do anything. I'd loved to see him as Luthor. But if they cast him, then the Beyonce thing ain't gonna work. She's a hot piece of ass, but the chick can't really act. Now if there's a role for a naked mute, by all means cast her. But a major role in a movie with an actor the caliber of Depp - no way.

Sorry .. naked mute should be and will forever be played by Qi Shu (as seen in the Transporter, for those who chose to remain hidden behind their Criterions and haven't seen it)Originally posted by Amel

Reminds me a lot of the Spiderman situation from the mid to late 90's. I've no doubt that Superman will happen one day, but probably not in the immediate future.Originally posted by Dr. DVD

I'd also like to see Dame Edna as Brainiac, or Rob Reiner as Darkseid. That would be pretty cool.

While it is a totally different take on the story, this is STILL the situation from the mid to late 90s, it just goes through different versions and never gets made. I would wager that if you started in the mid 90s and traced it up to now including the pre-production and false starts, this is the costliest movie in motion picture history to not have anything shot whatsoever.

I am watching the third season of Sex and the City right now and can agree with the statement. However, if she can pull off the role then she would really be a good actress as Lois Lane is pretty much a 180 from Charlotte. Well, maybe a 90.
The problem is I think producers and directors would take one look at her age and rule her out.
She might not look it at all, but she is approaching 40 according to imdb. I would cast her, but a director like McG sure as hell wouldn't. Even if they did cast her, she would probably get fired if she didn't look good in a thong. Also, it is unlikely that they would also cast a guy close to her age as well.

Latest rumor i've read. McG has nothng to do with this project. He was attatched to Batman v Superman briefly... which was killed. He was never invited over to the Superman project. He's just talking to get his name out there. If he can maybe hack something together he's hoping he might get a shot at it. But give me one good reason why'd they'd let that asshat near their best franchise. His last two attemtps were Fastlane, and Charlies Angels 2. I'd be really surprised if anyone other than McG said that McG was attatched to this project.
