What is the worst widescreen to pan & scan conversion you've ever noticed?

Lots of great examples mentioned - but this was even worse:
The original VHS release of the CinemaScope New Faces of 1952 wasn't even pand and scan - they just took the center of the picture and lopped off the sides. The movie, being one of the early widescreen efforts, tried to make use of the new ratio, and as a result there were tmes when there was nobody on screen!
