Either she lost a bet or she signed on based on a pitch that was much more promising than the finished product and it was too late to turn back once she realized how crappy it'd be.

Exactly . . . she looks good in it, but it that doesn't mean that it's a good outfit.

If I lived in an alternate universe where there was no such thing as a "Catwoman", then I would think that was a kick-ass costume.

Put me in as someone else who would rather see Michelle Pfeiffer (who still looks great) in that role, with the costume from Batman Returns. I don't have a problem with Halle Barry (although she says some stupid things and plays the race card far too often), but that suit looks like it was designed for some horny guy's student film, and was sewn together by his mother. All I can say is, I hope Warner Bros. releases a special edition of Batman Returns to capitalize on Catwoman, so I can buy that and stay at home watching Michelle Pfieffer pour milk on herself over and over, while I imagine a world where the Halle Barry Catwoman does not exist.

Well, if there's one good thing that'll come out of this disaster known as "Catwoman", it's that it'll likely kill WB's desire to make anymore comic book films which should mean the McG/Abrams Superman project will never see the light of day.

What the hell is it with WB and their inability to make a halfway decent superhero flick?! Even their sister studio, New Line, has produced a successful franchise like Blade. WB has tons of great DC Comics properties and they squander every one of them.

I'm surprised she isn't relating this role to race as well.

You know, bringing the character back to where Ertha Kitt played it.

Well, I agree that many of Warner's decisions have been atrocious regarding comic book properties, but I do have to give them props for their move on the Batman series. Their choices on THAT film have been quite good. And with Catwoman...well, at least they treid to hire an interesting director. That's the one thing I'm holding out on (though really, he's more a visual stylist than a good director...since he hasn't directed much).

A little prayer I say when I hear this news:
Why oh Why Lord do you torture us with the fact that this schmuck is even given consideration to direct bad scripts. Don't let him direct Superman. Please let him fall off a motorcycle doing a hundred miles an hour, off the top of a high cliff and into the path of an oncoming bullet train while getting struck by lightning and being shot at with gold plated Desert Eagles at the same time in super duper slow motion from 4 different angles. It would be more believable (and satisfactory) than the crap he puts on film. Oh and please give us world peace too. Amen.

And does that logo remind anyone else of Thundercats? Without the lines flaring out.

I mean, I have nothing against her really unlike a lot of folks, but man does she look stupid. Why couldn't they just get michelle pfeifer back
I could not agree more.

I just don't see how Halle Berry can carry a whole movie by herself. Her Jinx Johnson character in Die Another Day wasn't very good and I'm glad they got smart and canceled the Jinx movie. Thumbs down already.

I actually read the accompanying article in EW. It said something to the effect that this is a NEW Catwoman and has nothing to do with the old Catwoman character from Batman. Different Name, different reason for turning into super heroine, and worst of all...

...She has super Powers! Powers of course related to that of a cat, I dont know, does that mean she always lands on her feet?
If it is supposed to be a different character, than why not call it something else?! Accept for the obvious name recognition, this is just gonna draw far more criticism than anything else. There has to be a million different things they could have called this.

Ugh! this sucks beyond belief. Well, that is $8.75 x 2 that Warner wont get from me.

I hope this movie dies! And everyone involved gets a cattleprod shoved up their ass! I can't believe how bad this is gonna be...

The tagline should be "If you thought we f**ked up Batman...wait til you see how we f**ked up Catwoman!"

I love when movies like this get made. It's hard to imagine the complete stupidity of the people involved. Actually it's not hard but a lot of fun. How does something like this get created? Who thought this was a good idea? I can see one person making such a mistake but there are so many people involved in making a movie how does this get by all of them. It's hilarious to think about.

Yet they're more than happy to capitalize on the familiar name. If they were going to scrap everything they should have justed called it "Felina" or something.

The costume is terrible in so many ways. It's too silly to be sexy, yet it's also completely impractical as a hero's outfit.

From: Chicago, IL,
the article distances itself from the Batman Catwoman, its her OWN catwoman.

This is going to be a 70 million dollar dud. This is the best DC can do?

Indeed. This isn't the Catwoman from Batman, infact it has nothing to do with that Catwoman according to reports. From my understanding, in this version there is various Catwomen (lending to sequels), with certain "powers" and crappy outfits...

Whoever designed the oufit and logo needs to be be-headed.

I was reading an article in Maxim last night...its an interview with David Carradine...they ask him about why there wasnt a Kung Fu movie...he says because WB is incredibly stupid! He said that their just retarded and you cant get them to listen to any good ideas...

it shows...
