Mindless, Hare-brained Teen Comedies...

The DVD pickings are notoriously slim these days. Can anyone recommend a hare-brained, mindless, funny (?), teen comedy/parody on the scatological side, along the lines of Scary Movie 1 and 2 or Not Another Teen Movie as a rental?

Thanks.

I was just at the DVD store and couldn't work up the courage to rent "American Wedding" ("American Pie 2"). I rented "Bruce Almighty" instead. I'll let you know...

I stand corrected. How is "American Pie 2"? And is it subtitled "Once more with filling.."?

I've only see the first AP movie, but my friend that have seen them all say they're all funny and rank them:

American Wedding
Amercian Pie
American Pie 2

I'm sure some others' posting in this thread can give you some opinions for personal experience.

Dude, Where's My Car? - I'm one of the few people who likes this movie.

If mindless isn't a dealbreaker, check out Psycho Beach Party. It's great!

I think it stands as Pie 2, Pie 1, Wedding.. not to say Wedding isn't funny.. but I didn't feel the need to see it multiple times like the others.

Bruce Almighty...

Well, I watched it. It's got lots of body fluids but it isn't mindless at all. It's rather ambitious. It wants to be a morality play à la "Groundhog Day" (probably autobiographical, knowing Jim Carrey's ego).

Unfortunately, the whole movie falls apart because they cut out two essential scenes (which appear in the deleted scenes): one that would explain why Jennifer Aniston wants to break up with Jim and another explaining why he's throwing a big party for himself in a big, fancy mansion.

I hate it when filmmakers drop the continuity ball like that and make the viewer feel like he (or she) hasn't been paying attention or has fallen asleep for 10 minutes.

That qualifies as "plenty stupid" in itself, but not the kind of "stupid" we're looking for here.

Like "Super Troopers", which was pretty funny.

Can't Hardly Wait is probably the best teen comedy that came out in the 90's.

Saving Silverman was bad, but had a lot of very funny parts; most involving R. Lee Ermey.

Good parodies? Can't think of any.

I'm actually with you on that one, Rob . . . still not one of my favorites, but much funnier than I thought it was going to be.

As for recommendations . . . you can always hop way back to Revenge Of The Nerds.

yeah sure it doesn't have people eating dog crap, or people feeding live video over the internet, but its still not "too classy" (think of the scene with the carrots)

Hmmm... Your suggestions are all so tentalizing. I'll have to rely on one criterion to decide. Which teen movie in recent memory has the most outrageous/funny/unsubtle/revolting (choose one) toilet humour/body fluid scene?

The "beer cup" scene in American Pie, maybe?

BTW . . . you're beginning to worry me . . .

I was thinking more along the lines of the toilet explosion in Not another teen movie... a true classic.

Don't let me worry you. It's the mid-winter doldrums.
