One of the key things that makes the show so funny are the asides by Squidward and Mr. Krab. With them sitting out the largest part of the movie, there's really nothing for Spongebob and Patrick to play off of. Its sort of like watching an episode of Dennis the Menace without Mr. Wilson.

got baked with my friends and saw it. LOVED IT. just friggin hilarious. the theater was filled with young kids and their parents and stupid college kid stoners like us. loved it when patrik and spongebob got drunk on ice cream.
too bad i wasn't stoned for the last 20 minutes or so. thats when it got fucking crazy.
