Very cool, very atmospheric. At this point, though, this shouldn't surprise me from Night--I've enjoyed everything he's done up to this point, so I'll be there on opening day for this.

I loved The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, but didn't care so much for Signs. Maybe it was because I think the whole idea of crop circles is stupid
This does look pretty interesting... I hope it's a return to what he did with Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. I also hope he doesn't throw in a twist ending, since people would be expecting one anyway.

Looks like a pretty good cast.
Joaquin Phoenix
Bryce Howard (Ron Howard's daughter)
William Hurt
Sigourney Weaver
Adrien Brody
Judy Greer
Premise: Set in rural Pennsylvania in 1897, this is the story of the small village of Covington (population 60) surrounded by a woods inhabited by a race of "mythical creatures," and the romance that blossoms between Kitty (Greer), the daughter of the town's leader (Hurt), and Lucius (Phoenix), a young man who questions the policy of keeping Covington's citizens completely confined to the village.

Wide Awake is god-awful crap.
I hated The Sixth Sense.
I loved Unbreakable.
I thought Signs was one of the most funniest films of all time (for unintentional reasons).
So with that in mind, I don't like M. Night. But I did enjoy the trailer and it does make me want to see it. Hopefully he'll surprise me like with Unbreakable.

Hmm...last time I read about this movie it was going to be called The Woods with Ashton Kushner? I guess things have changed for the better looking at that cast list.
Looks interesting to be sure.

Reminds me of Carnivale for some reason.

Kirsten Dunst was offered a role in this film but they couldn't agree on a contract I believe. Looks like this film has a lot of positive energy working with Dunst & Kutcher not being in it as planned. Dunst made me cringe a couple times in Spider-Man & in the new trailer for 2. The scene where she is standing in the diner with Dr. Octupus approaching in particular. She almost looks like she is looking/waiting for a cue to start acting...

I have spoiled myself by reading the talkback at AICN (a terrifying experience in itself!), and now know what the twist ending is.
I'm not sure if I want to post it here though, even in spoiler tags.

This trailer have WAY too much away. I guessed to whole story by just watching the trailer once. If you watch and listen to the trailer carefully it becomes painfully obvious what the whole story is about. If I am correct it is a very bad story, like something you would right in an English class. Anyways I hope I'm not right but I feel the trailer did give away way too much.

Shamalayan is well-known for his "tell nothing" trailers. Why not post your guess as to what the story is in spoiler tags and we'll see if you're right after the movie comes out?
