I love how the tagline at the end has the letters "RU" on one side of the slash and "N" on the other ("RUN"!) before it reveals the entire sentence.

Slam M. Night all you want...I have LOVED all of his films and this one looks great too!

Here you go (more details are in the 2nd "sticky" thread at the top of this forum):

How to use spoiler tags

Simply surround the text you wish to "blacken" with the word "spoiler" contained in brackets. For example:

[spoi1er]This text will be hidden[/spoi1er]

Notice the "/" in the closing tag. vB code, like html, requires a / in the closing tag. If we replace the "1" with an "l" the tags will work and we are left with:

Spoiler:
This text will be hidden

Spoiler:
The movie isn't set in the past but is really set in modern times. The red marks are the marks a construction company uses when they are demolishing something, so that is what that is. At the end of the trailer you can see yellow flags and the the man is wearing yellow, meaning that the area is off limits for the construction and at the end of the trailer you can hear the sound of a bulldozer. I hope this isn't really the story, if so I would be extremely dissappointed because it isn't too original.

Don't read if you don't want to possibly be spoiled.
Thanks!

I don't think that "twist" is real.

Spoiler:
For one, why do they only get alarmed by these "creatures" at night? If it was a construction company, why would they be working in the dark? Also; in the movie some livestock is killed. Again, why would they do this?

I read on imdb.com that the ending mattc stated is a false one. Shyamalan suppposedly released these fake scripts to protect his movie. An extra in the movie wrote that the ending everybody is talking about was nowhere close to what he saw being filmed. Who knows.... If that is indeed the "true" ending, that would not be bad at all.

Not really a spoiler, but a response to mattc's speculation:
Spoiler:
Those yellow flags look to have been placed by the villagers...they don't look modern at all. The man in yellow is Joaquin Phoenix (the lead of the movie)...again, he is one of the villagers, not a construction worker. Did you watch the hi-res version of the trailer? As for the bulldozer sound, that generic rumbling has appeared in several horror trailers that have nothing to do with bulldozers.

I saw this trailer last night before Cold Mountain - looks promising, as all of night's trailers do. Loved the voice-over by William Hurt.

Looks good. I've never really been blown away by his stuff though, and I HATED Unseeable. I'll probably see this one though.

While I like his films, I prefer the pun "Unwatchable," myself.

All of M. Night's movies have been very entertaining so far, and this one looks no different. The atmosphere presented in the trailer is very good. The line, "You are fearless in a way that I should never know" gave me the chills.

The premiere of the new Village trailer is supposed to be on ABC here in a little while, during the showing of The Sixth Sense.

Next Monday there is going to be a 7 1/2 minute clip of The Village shown during the airing of Unbreakable. I hope more studios begin doing this, I enjoyed watching the opening 10 minutes of Dawn of the Dead on USA.

Ok, they just showed it, but I think the trailer in the first post was better. Looks like a good creepy movie though.

Not sure. It was very similar to the one in the original post, but was touted as a "world premiere" trailer, so they may be delaying the net release for a little while.

Edit: The website says it will be available at 11PM PST.

I've always had a feeling that the creatures in the woods are actually
Spoiler:
Native Americans (or some animal dressed up by the Native Americans a la Brotherhood of the Wolf) trying to chase away the villagers.

Anyways, I liked the feeling the teaser trailer a lot more, but this was cool too. Looks like a good movie.

looks great. AICN is reporting the obvious twist ending is for real. while thats dissapointing in a sense, i gotts say this film looks beautiful. stunning photography. the contrast of red and yellow is beautiful.
