I think that I made the right choice in watching them at home, I think I am going to do the trilogy again after Christmas, b4 the family drives me nuts. I am getting the Collector's edition for x-mas, so I will have both Collector's in all!!!! I think the SC theater that ordered the pizza for the people is awesome. That is the coolest thing I have ever heard!!

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

Posted this in The Hobbit thread, but in case it was missed...

Warner Bros is running marathon screenings of the extended Lord of the Rings trilogy (again) on Saturday, Dec. 8th, and Sunday, Dec. 9th. Tickets are on sale now.

Edit: ticket prices appear to be $25, or $30 if on a big screen (RPX,XD, etc.)

Not sure if I'm going this one. The original Trilogy Tuesday was a unique experience because it was the lead up to ROTK.

I'll be down for the Hobbit Marathon when the final film premieres in a couple years.

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

My friend and I are going to watch the EE LOTR movies on Blu-Ray before Hobbit gets released. But not a true marathon. Maybe FOTR & 1/2 of TT one day & other 1/2 TT & ROTK the next weekend. Guess we are just wusses for not wanting to spend 12 hours watching all 3 at once.

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

I love the LOTR films but spending 12 hours in a movie theater sounds like a special kind of Hell!

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

I agree. I begin to get uncomfortable in movie theaters when a movie is nearly 3 hours. I cannot imagine being in a seat, even with breaks for 12. The way to go with these is to watch one a day at home.

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

Wow.....almost 9 years after my other post in this thread.

i may go to the marathon again seeing it in an XD theater will be nice and we didn't get the ROTK EE the first time around.

It does feel like a bit of a chore at this point given how many times i've seen these in the last decade

I still have all the goodies we got the first time...senitype collectibles, T-shirts (unworn)

Maybe I'll wear it to this showing since it carries the Tuesday Trilogy 12/16/2003 banner on the back

Re: LOTR marathon viewers?

Doing a marathon of the EE for all three at the theater seems to me would be brutal. Given I have the Blu-rays (both theatrical and EE, so I can mix it up), I'd rather have a viewing party at home.
