The Transporter had a great car chase scene at the beginning of the movie. Too bad that was the sum total of anything good in the entire film, heh.

The Seven Ups (Roy Scheider, made by the guy who produced French Connection)

Blazing Magnum (starred Stuart Whitman, very rarely gets shown these days)

Road Games (Aussie movie with Stacy Keach - a very slow, but inventive and interesting car/truck chase at the end).

Blues Brothers (cannot believe no one mentioned that one)

Vanishing Point (ditto)

Jade (another Freidkin car chase, lousy movie though)

The Hidden (wonderful 80's sci fi, great fast paced car chases)

Car chases are just about a dime-a-dozen anymore, with almost all movies having the obligatory chase scene. But a couple that spring to mind are:

The Rock
True Lies - couple in this one, one with a copter

Die Hard 3

(Corvette Summer would be in the list, but it isn't on DVD yet)

Bullit, Ronin, and Blues Brothers. Honourable mention, for pure cheese, goes to Action Jackson for the car chase through a hotel. (Up the stairs and down the hall, for the love of Pete Brady!)

The Driver with Ryan O'Neil is good, too bad it's not yet available. Jackie Chan's Operation Condor has a good car chase in the first half.

Ditto on Road Warrior, Vanishing Point, French Connection, Ronin, and let's not forget Evil Dead II, when the dead are chasing Ash in his Buick (?) through the woods...

Another vote for the Italian Job(newer version), Ronin and Jade. Truly sucky movie(Jade) but the car chase is killer!

It's the gold 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that Sam Raimi features in most of his movies (Tobey Maguire and Cliff Robertson drive it up to a curb in Spiderman, for example).

THe original GONE IN 60 SECONDS is the only good one by that name. I like Nick Cage, but the new GI60S was a POS.

Bourne Identity with Matt Damon has an awesome car chase scene. Sounds phenomenal with 5.1 DTS!

I liked the chase scene in the Matrix Reloaded. The chase scene was more impressive than the rest of the movie, which I thought was mediocre.
