"Mainstream" Films that feature "Hardcore" Sex
 

I might be in the wrong forum with this, but I was just wondering how many Studios have released films with Hardcore Sex in them. These are the ones I know of. R1 only of course.

Sex and Lucia (an amazing film- 10 out of 10!!!

Baise Moi does have hardcore sex in it.

Caligula (Unrated) also has hardcore sex but I'm not sure if they released it in the theaters unrated.

Does Irreversible have it?

I saw that at Blockbuster for sale used. Was it released as R-Rated in the theaters?

are you kidding, yes it was. Theatrically, The film carried a self imposed X-rating for years, it was only after it was doing great box office numbers that Penthouse submitted the film to the MPAA to secure an R-rating and release it to more theatres that wouldn't have originally shown an X-rated film. Theatrically (and the laserdisc/unrated VHS versions) had a running time of 148minutes, the current unrated DVD is 156 minutes (an even longer Canne's Film Festival cut supposedly shown at a running time of 210 minutes).

- "The Piano Teacher" - features some hardcore sex scene from a sequence with a film within a film scene
- Paul Verhoeven's "Spetters" has the legendary penis measuring sequence. The film also contains both graphic (but not hardcore) sex and a violent gay rape sequence.
- "The Lover" borders very close to hardcore, the unrated version is a frame or two shy of simulated penetration.

not sure if this counts, but i remember hearing rumors that in Wild Orchid, Mickey Rourke and his co star and then girlfriend actually did it on film, and it i've never been sure. Looks pretty real..

....actually there were a few places in Chicago that showed it unrated.

If you dont have it....get the unrated version. Superb film!!

The theatrical run of Sex and Lucia here in DC, didn't have a MPAA rating. I remember the one-sheet stating 'no one under 18 admitted'

this type of controversy was even suggested in Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now'- rumour had it that outtakes from the love making scene between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie were ultra-explicit.

I haven't seen it, but doesn't Roeg's Bad Timing: A Sensual Obsession contain graphic sex scenes.

Are you sure? From Ebert's review, all I got was that it has a ton of nudity. Also in the review's credits, it says it's rated-R. If there was hardcore sex in it, surely it would be X or un-rated.

I know for sure the ones I listed have XXX action in them, I've watched them 5 times to be sure :)

I was mainly curious about some of the Foreign films Blue Underground & Media Blasters have released with "Contains Graphic Scenes Of A Sexual Nature" or something to that affect. I remember Patrick Still Lives had some kinda warning label like that

...erm... the general concensus (sp?) seems to be that during the (in)famous opening sequence Dalle and Anglade were most definitely 'getting it on'... in his commentary (on the DVD of the three-hour version of the movie - which Ebert did not see!) the director is rather coy about whether they did or did not...

These aren't really mainstream, but:

Marco Bellocchio's Devil in the Flesh (1986) has star Maruschka Detmers fellating her male co-star. This film is reportedly the first instance of a respected actress like Detmers performing in an explicit sex scene.

Paul Verhoeven's Spetters (1980) has star Renee Soutendjik fondling her lover's penis; there is also a graphic homosexual fellatio scene.

Cremaster 2 - surreal hard-core sex-scene where a couple fornicate with the man having a member that resembles a phallic beehive. Has to be seen to be believed.

i own the R4 disc.....and am "very sure" :D

Pola X- with G.Depardieu

The Pornographer (only the uncut French disc...not the British travesty)

Marco Ferreri's 1976 film "The Last Woman" also starring G. Depardieu carried a self imposed X-rating for it's US Theatrical release. Depardieu, De Niro, and woman shared a very graphic (x-rated) masturbation scene in Bertolucci's 1900.

The stills I have seen from Dusan Makavejev's film W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism depict graphic sex. In Makavejev's Sweet Movie there is unbelievable scene involving actor John Vernon (Dean Vernon Wormer - 'Animal House') replete with his penis painted in gray metalic paint and pissing on the lead actress.

Erections are also depicted in "The Adjuster" and "Les Amants de Pont Neuf"

The unrated VHS version of the Bridget Fonda film "Scandal" has a fleeting glimpse of hard-core sex.

I'm surprised! Nearly a whole page in and not a peep from Julie Walker about "Cruising".

Angel Heart (1987)

Not sure is the rumor is true but the sex scene with Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet is suppose to be real. In fact, Bill Cosby was so upset on seeing the film had her fired from his popular TV show in the '80.

Actually that rumor is about Wild Orchid.

At any rate there's a few films where the actors have said they weren't simulating - but the scene as shown isn't hardcore. Most recent example I've come across - Boxcar Bertha, Don't Look Now.

The non-rated version of Crimes of Passion starring Kathleen Turner as a hooker is as damn hardcore as a mainstream movie can get. I highly recommend it. Very good storyline and steamy sex.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned 9 1/2 Weeks . It's on the soft core side but it's pretty darn hot with Kim Basinger and a decent looking Mickey O'Rourke.

Actually, that rumor also exists for "Angel Heart." Apparently Mickey Rourke got around.

Larry Clark's Ken Park is probably the most graphic non-XXX film ever made in the States, but that doesn't make it any good.
Scenes include:
-A teenage boy being a cunning linguist with his girlfriend's mother, lengthy, non-simulated, from many angles including close up.
-A girl is about to puff on her boyfriend when her dad walks in. She lets go of his drawers and his erection pops out.
-A different teen boy undergoes auto-asphyxiation while masturbating in an extended scene that shows numerous close-ups and includes ejaculation.
-The piece de resistance finale, during which three of the teens get together for a full throttle *****-n'-suck session, all unsimulated and shown in great detail.

A very distasteful movie, especially since the events aren't really given any context or depth. It's exploitation through-and-through.

Hey I know of one movie that absolutely made me bugged eyed and astonished with a TRUE NUDITY scene....the movie is Requiem of/for A Dream the scene were the female druggy went to the party in order to get more dope..she went thinking she would sleep with the guy again in order to get more dope from him...when she gets there it is a orgy and she has to get in front of about 20 males and females and use a D$LDO on here self and another girl at the same time ..."back to back bumpingand grinding" if you know what I mean ...it showed everything!The female actress is a well known actress but i can't think of her name right now!
